‘Tis the season to be frantically looking for ways to update your LBD for the ninetieth holiday party this month. Ordinarily we’d send you off into the weekend with three easy-to-copy celeb outfits, but since this is a time for giving generously, we rounded up five fierce looks that require minimal thought, make anyone look good and range from super low-key and casual to “ring the alarm” levels of hotness.
Your mom’s BFF’s holiday open house: Heidi Klum‘s cute, casual outfit (an Elizabeth and James blazer, skinny jeans and red booties) is perfect for a daytime event where you want to look polished without a lot of effort. The bold statement necklace and boots bring a festive note to an otherwise basic outfit, and the ponytail is great for second-day hair.
Cocktail hour with high school friends: Want to catch up with the girls over eggnog martinis at your local haunt? Tina Fey‘s outfit is classy, tailored and flattering (for the “I’m so mature now” portion of the evening), but lose the coat and suddenly the leather pants (hers are J Brand) and sheer top are ready to hit Bar no. 4.
Neighborhood family Christmas party: You might get stuck at the kids’ table — but you might also run into that cute neighbor guy who comes home whenever he’s not jetsetting around the world for his fancy banking job. Walk the line between “girl next door” and “coolest girl at the party” in an outfit like Olivia Palermo’s. Her Old Navy cableknit is cozy, her J Brand leather skirt is sassy and the heels and pony are chic finshing touches.
Fancy dinner out: If you’ve gotta get dressed up for Grandma’s (or you’ve got a hot date), you can’t do much better than Adele‘s Stella McCartney stunner (fascinator optional). The rich jewel tones flatter nearly everyone, as does the classic A-line silhouette and knee-length hemline. Simple pumps and jewelry let the look speak for itself.
A swinging-from-the-chandeliers soirée: Debby Ryan’s outfit is exactly what we hope we look like on New Year’s Eve. If you’re starting the festivities early, may we direct you to this sparkling, deco-inspired Rachel Gilbert dress, which is both elegant and fun. Add a slim bangle and gorgeous red heels (hers are Bionda Castana), then add a glass of champagne and you’re good to go.
Which of these outfits are you most likely to wear? Any fun plans this weekend?
