Kate Lands at Top of Our Best Dressed List - With a Recycled White Gown

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. That seemed to be Duchess Catherine’s style this week. (Though we can’t imagine her ever saying the word ain’t.) She broke out two gowns we’ve seen before, like the princess of the people she is, and one of them was such a hit that it earned her enough votes to earn her a spot at the top of this week’s Most Loved Looks list.
The dress in question is a Roland Mouret design with conservative long sleeves, a demure neckline and a slit that’s neither conservative nor demure. She wore the look to the London premiere of Mandela: Long Walk to Freedom. (The first time we saw the dress was back in 2012.)
It’s probably Catherine’s second most famous white gown, but it was what she wore around her neck that really got everyone buzzing. As soon as she hit the red carpet, Twitter erupted with speculation that she was wearing a $35 Zara collar. The complete look earned her a 91% approval rating and helped her beat out Reese Witherspoon, J.Lo and even a Victoria’s Secret Angel.
And this wasn’t the only dress the Duchess recycled this week. She hit the red carpet in a black lace Temperley London gown for the third time just a few days after breaking out the white Roland Mouret. Like we said, if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. And Kate, it most certainly ain’t broke.
Do you think Duchess Catherine deserves this week’s title? Or should it have gone to someone else?
