Dear Santa: Please Bring Us Kelly Ripa's Abs for Christmas

Right now we’re in full holiday mode, which means spending lots of time shopping and cocktail partying and less time at the gym. But this photo of Kelly Ripa makes us wanna drop down and do 100 (before grabbing another Christmas cookie).

The TV host (and our unofficial fitness guru) shared a snap of her six (maybe eight?)-pack on Twitter. In the photo, she’s seen stretching with her legs leaning against the wall and her super-toned tummy on display. The affirmation “Whether you think you can or can’t – you’re right” is on the wall above her.

“Thank you @AKTINMOTION and @TheKaiserTweet for letting me lean on you,” Ripa Tweeted — a shout out to her trainer Anna Kaiser, who also works with Sarah Jessica Parker and Shakira. Kaiser founded the AKT inMotion Manhattan studio which combines different workouts including TRX, kickboxing, Pilates, ballet and more.

And stay tuned: PeopleStyleWatch.com editors are planning a group We Tried It trip to the studio, and hopefully we’ll all leave with Ripa’s abs. (Though despite what the wall affirmation wants us to believe, we probably can’t.)

I really do like Kelly Ripa, but I have to say she is way too skinny. Almost anorexic. Now with her hair cut short she looks like a bobble head. When your head is bigger then the rest of you, it’s not attractive. She can gain at least 10 to 15 pounds and still be thin, just not bone thin. I remember when she was on All My Children she had some meat on her bones.

I’m all for being in shape but she seems to take it to extremes, whenever she talks about the hours she puts in at the gym the more I feel like she’s got exercise bulimia.

While it’s obvious Ripa is diligent about her workouts, she is so thin, with very low body fat, she is not a realistic role model for any female. Recently she was wearing a low cut zippered shirt and you could see her rib bones…very unappealing.

I love Kelly Ripa but I think that she is a bit too skinny. 0% fat is not a look that I’m interested in. If there is a body look I would copy it would be more along the lines of Jennifer Lawrence or Ireland Baldwin. Normal and healthy.
