Three Cute Outfits to Wear to Thanksgiving, From Low-Key to Dressed Up
Griffin/GC; Asadorian-Mejia/Splash; Nikki Sh
Though our first choice for Thanksgiving apparel is “extremely stretchy yoga pants plus oversized 1988 Garfield T-shirt” to allow for maximum pie consumption, we recognize that not everyone’s hosts might appreciate that outfit. Not to mention, there are plenty of family photo opps on Turkey Day (more on that later).
So we rounded up three star-approved outfits that will work for any Thanksgiving table, whether it’s laid-back or on the fancier end of the spectrum. But with that pie in mind, there are no constricting waistbands or body-con dresses here — just relaxed, flattering looks that your judgmental aunt will have no problem with. (Psst: Here’s the makeup today, too!)

From left: Jessica Alba hits the road in a classy version of our ideal outfit: comfy, stretchy leggings, a cozy wool tunic and a royal purple sweater for extra warmth and a pop of color. The boots and hat are practical and make the look a little dressier. Then there’s Gisele Bündchen in the ultimate autumnal look: cream cablenknit sweater, luxe shearling jacket and killer knee-high boots (riding boots are an equally stylish option if you’ll be in the kitchen all day).
Finally, Angelina Jolie wears a dress that’s perfect for a more formal Thanksgiving: a bow-collar shirtdress with an A-line skirt, plus simple black flats. If it’s too cold for bare legs, opt for sheer hose or tights with texture to avoid a “Wicked Witch of the West” look.
How dressy is your family gathering? Will you be wearing that Garfield shirt or do you plan to attend in a look like Angelina’s? Tell us all about it in the comments.
