If you haven’t yet met the PEOPLE StyleWatch Style Council, you’re in for a treat. These twelve ladies were handpicked by our editors to share their best tips, coolest finds and killer style with you each month. Our December issue, on stands tomorrow, is packed with their great advice, but we thought we’d give you a little sneak peek by asking some the crew for their best gifts to give — and favorite presents they’ve ever gotten.

From left, above:
Ashley Madekwe: My family all lives in London, so online shopping is my friend. I love Liberty for gorgeous bath products for the ladies (above). And Mr. Porter for chic cozy scarves for the men.

Louise Roe: I love C. Wonder for brilliant gifts — you can personalize items on their site [like this wine stopper]. I try to make a list of everyone I have to buy for, and tick them off in one go online.

The best gift I ever received was a very early edition of Charles Dickens’s A Tale of Two Cities, which my friend found at Portobello Market in Notting Hill. It meant so much as she’d gone to the trouble of hunting through boxes of old novels to find it.

Kristin Cavallari: I like giving gifts that I know the person is going to love. When you know someone well enough to know their taste, it makes shopping for them a ton of fun. I try to think about the person I’m buying the present for and what would make them happy.

The best gift I ever received? My KitchenAid mixer, because I use it almost everyday. I love cooking and baking.

Kourtney Kardashian: For my best gift ever, I would say … Scott [Disick] got me a vintage Bulgari watch and it wraps around three times. I’m kind of hard to buy for, I never really ask for anything, but this was something I had wanted for a long time and I know I will have and wear forever.

Nikki Reed: [Husband] Paul [McDonald] and I make a lot of our gifts … it seems more personal than a box of chocolates or wine. I spend a lot of time on Etsy looking for gifts. Some of my girlfriends have stores on Etsy — my friend Brenda has this line “BeeLacy” — she makes cool dresses and head wraps.

Kelly Rowland: My favorite gifts are from my agents — they always give me a gift with my name going towards a charity which is what I appreciate more. I’m spoiled with a lot of stuff, and that’s something I’ve applied to gift giving as well.

Jamie Chung: For close friends, I like to give plants. This guy at my farmer’s market makes amazing terrariums with succulents — these desert plants that are impossible to kill — and that’s an awesome gift to have. It makes your house smells amazing. You can get something similar on Etsy.

Naya Rivera: If it’s personal, I love to do pictures and cater to that person. One time I gave my mom a little diamond ring. She never had a diamond ring, even her wedding ring. So I took her shopping at Tiffany & Co.!
