See ya, Katniss braid. So long, voluminous blonde waves. Jennifer Lawrence is the latest star to step out with a pixie cut, proving this look is really Catching Fire (ba-dum-TSS!).

The Hunger Games actress debuted her much-shorter crop on her Facebook page, sharing the first look at her new do with her 2.5 million facebook fans. (And she’s been posting more pics throughout the day — check them out, below, to get a better look at the cut!) In the first photo, Jennifer is shown giving one of her signature goofy grins to the camera underneath an asymmetrical cut with sweeping bangs parted to one side, and a much shorter, spikier chop in back.

To go with her new, more androgynous do, the star selected a black blazer and scoop-neck tank, plus a delicate chain. “Jennifer is headed up north for #GLOBALFANDAY with The Hunger Games Catching Fire cast,” team Lawrence wrote to accompany the photo. “Follow this page all day for updates!”

Lawrence’s last haircut was done on a whim, but there’s still no word on what inspired this major hair change right before her big Hunger Games and American Hustle press tours. One thing we do know: She is going to be using this new short do to her advantage — we have a feeling her red carpet appearances are going to be more glam than ever.

What do you think of her new look? How should she style it next?

I hope this is a wig. She’s really pretty but I think she looks better with longer hair. Even a bob would be better than this.

Love Jennifer Lawrence, hate her new hair.

It’s looks cute. I thought it was Ellen Barkin for a sec.

I’ll be honest, I’m not a HUGE fan of the hair, but it’s cute, she pulls it off.
I guess my biggest question is WHEN and WHY did celebrities getting HAIRCUTS become news?!?! I mean who really cares?!?!?

Melissa on

Cute but it looks a little like Kate Gosselin’s old do

The hair isn’t bad, but I’m not a terribly huge pixie cut fan.
But I guess my problem is WHEN and WHY did celebrity haircuts become news?! I mean, honestly, who cares?!?!

She is beautiful with long or short hair. Why can’t girls cut their hair? I mean a girl can still be beautiful with the right styling with different lengths of hair of course. Short hair is easy to manage and takes way less time to wash and longer hair holds more dust and dirt so short hair is cleaner and smells better. Short hair is great for allergies too.

I am loving all these pixie cuts and keep going back and forth about it. it took so many years to grow mine out and I’m 40 so I will likely not grow it out again if I cut it…ack! What to do! But I love it, on Jennifer and PAM ANDERSON looks like a 100% revamped girl (so youthful and classy) with hers :)
