Elisabeth Moss's Hair Color: Two Editors Face Off in Blonde vs. Brunette Debate
We take celebrity hair changes very seriously at PSW headquarters, so this week has been like a busy, emotional rollercoaster for us. To recap: Pamela Anderson’s pixie, Camilla Belle’s maybe-bangs, Jennifer Hudson’s chic chop, AnnaLynne McCord’s dye job and now Elisabeth Moss has returned back to her brunette roots.
And while one editor is shedding a tear for Moss’s blonde moment, another one is happy she’s back to her rich chestnut Peggy Olson hue.
Here, they each take a stance:
Associate Style Editor Brittany Talarico: Okay, I didn’t actually shed a tear when I saw Moss’s new do. But I did let out a heavy sigh. I was really starting to get used to the star’s platinum color, which for me, hit a total high note at the Emmy Awards. I also think the look gives her an old-Hollywood vibe. Plus, to be able to pull off a bleached-out color with a fair skin tone is pretty amazing and feels more exotic than her brunette look.
Style News Editor Alex Apatoff: Brittany, are you the reason there’s a wine shortage right now? Elisabeth Moss is way better brunette. It’s not just how we know her best (after all, Zoey Bartlet and Peggy Olson are both pretty brunettes) but the darker hue makes her eyes pop, flatters her porcelain skin and just generally looks more mature. I give this return to her dark hair one Don Draper tip of the whiskey.
Whose side are you on? Do you like the Mad Men star as a blonde or a brunette?
