Jennifer Hudson's Pixie Haircut: Let's Discuss

The last time Jennifer Hudson went short we debated whether or not it was a wig. This time, we’re pretty sure it’s the real deal.

The singer debuted a sleek pixie at BET’s Black Girls Rock event in Newark on Saturday, which showed off her striking features. And judging by the side view (see here) it definitely looks like a major chop, not a wig. Hudson selected a V-neck Balmain mini and lace-up Christian Louboutin boots to complete her new look. (If that coy grin is any indication, we think she feels pretty confident without her long strands.)

At the VMAs in August, Hudson sported a chin-length asymmetrical bob with a deep side part, but she quickly returned to her long, flowing hair. We hope her latest short style sticks around for a while.

NEWS FLASH… that long flowing hair was actually a ridiculous hair weave…

Walk like a man, talk like a man, look like a man….

Looks HORRIBLE!

My 2 Cents on

Like my stylist says (and he was trained in Paris) few people can wear a cut like that, and of the few that can, most don’t have the guts. So good for Jennifer – she does look amazing. Long hair is so predictable and unexciting, personality isn’t required for that style just need a scrunchie or bobby pins.

This is comical. The first time People Magazine features a haircut that actually shows significant difference in length, they are referring to a black woman who didn’t have to chop off any real hair to begin with. I know some overly sensitive fool is going to assume I am racist, but guess what…I’m BLACK! I surely hope People Magazine knows that Jennifer Hudson will probably pull a Beyonce in a week and get extensions. Us black women go through weaves like candy. Now I can’t believe I’m saying this but I respect Miley for keeping her short length.

So she took out her weave and cut what was left of her hair. It looks cute. I don’t care how much weight she loses or what she does to her hair, I still don’t think she’s cute in the face.

Gorgeous! She looks beautiful with short hair. Good choice

Honestly, the snarkiness on some of the threads on PEOPLE are beyond exhausting. Look, Jennifer Hudson is pretty, and the truth is, some of you posters are still smarting from the fact she actually lost weight, got healthy, looks fabulous with long OR short hair, and the worst part of these pictures is the skin tight LBD, which doesn’t really look good on anyone, unless you are going for “the stripper” look. Jennifer is gorgeous either way, and Shanna is right; black women go through wigs and weaves like water and if white women had the guts, they would step out there and do it, as well!!

Love it !!!!!

I could care LESS whether she weaves it up or not…she looks fabulous, healthy and happy. The rest of you haters….well haters gotta hate huh?
