Jennifer Hudson's Pixie Haircut: Let's Discuss

The last time Jennifer Hudson went short we debated whether or not it was a wig. This time, we’re pretty sure it’s the real deal.

The singer debuted a sleek pixie at BET’s Black Girls Rock event in Newark on Saturday, which showed off her striking features. And judging by the side view (see here) it definitely looks like a major chop, not a wig. Hudson selected a V-neck Balmain mini and lace-up Christian Louboutin boots to complete her new look. (If that coy grin is any indication, we think she feels pretty confident without her long strands.)

At the VMAs in August, Hudson sported a chin-length asymmetrical bob with a deep side part, but she quickly returned to her long, flowing hair. We hope her latest short style sticks around for a while.

How about you? We want to know:

I love it.

It’s funny that people assume that ALL black women “go through weaves like water” as one commenter posted and that black women that wear weaves have no hair of their own. I recently saw a picture of Angela Simmons (Rev Run’s daughter) wearing her own natural hair and it’s halfway down her back. She (like many other black women) wears weaves because it allows her versatility in trying and wearing different styles without having to cut or damage her own natural hair and not because she doesn’t have any hair of her own. My own hair is down to the middle of my back, and I’ve also tried weaves and extensions here and there for the same reasons. For those of you saying that Jennifer’s hair before was a weave, lol thank you for stating the obvious…she was never claiming her previous hairstyle to be all natural so comments like that are unnecessary and redundant. No one knows how long her hair was before she changed it to this new style and it’s ridiculous that people are more focused on “outing” her on the fact that she wore a weave prior to this than the actual subject of this article – her new hairstyle. Sad that people have to be so petty. This isn’t my favorite style on her but it’s still a cute haircut and I give her credit for not being afraid to make a bold change♡

It’s a lace front wig! You can see the glue around the edges….

I think she’s coming out of the closet.

For all of you haters, you should look at the video of her auditions from American Idol, she had her hair in a longer natural style that Simon took issue with, so no haters ALL BLACK WOMEN DO NOT HAVE WEAVES. You people kill me with your little narrow minded stero types. And just for the record white girls wear weave to!

If her goal was to look ~15 years older, mission accomplished.

I love it! Her features are so prominent that long hair makes her look like a Muppet . Short hair is sexy.

Why does People magazine post articles like this? Because ridiculous people will make ridiculous comments about whether it was a weave or a haircut broadcasting how we are judgemental, divided, and have an opinion about the dummiest things…like a hairdo. It’s attention…and they get it because you give it them! and I’m giving it by making this comment. Geez!!
