Hey Katie Holmes, We Bet You Never Pictured Rihanna Wearing Your Clothes

Rihanna Wears Holmes & YangSplash News Online

By this point, few of us find any of Rihanna’s wardrobe choices surprising. Yet we have a feeling her latest ensemble might have taken at least one person by surprise: Katie Holmes.

The singer stepped out in Sydney over the weekend wearing a cropped moto jacket and matching suede trousers by Holmes’s fashion label, Holmes & Yang. And somehow, we don’t think RiRi was the consumer Holmes and her long-term stylist/design partner Jeanne Yang had in mind when creating their “comfortable” and “simple” pieces.

The Rihanna way to wear the suede separates: styling the coat as a crop top (naturally) and pulling her pants down to expose her black undies. The Holmes & Yang way (below): Pair the jacket with a black high-waisted pants and an ivory cami, and style the suede bottoms with a demure silk tie-front blouse, for a very classic, all-American vibe.

Which is why we imagine Katie Holmes wondering how her designs got into the hands of the risk-taking popstar, who usually favors looks like this and this.

One thing we do know for sure: You need a pop star budget to afford the pricey pieces in the Holmes & Yang collection. The jacket retails for $2,400 and the pants $1,850, bringing the outfit in at over $4,000. Yup, you can buy a car with that.

What do you think of RiRi’s look? Can she pull off the Holmes & Yang ensemble? Do you think the designers would be surprised?

Katie Holmes owes Rihanna for bringing some kind purpose to these otherwise overpriced, bland duds. I don’t know how Rihanna did it but she made the clothes look good.

She wasn’t even in Sydney over the weekend… she is in South Africa doing a concert, she did a show Sunday night and last night…. she was definitely not in Sydney!!!!!

This is a nice outfit, what’s crazy about it?
People Mag has gotten so stupid.

I definitely like Rihanna’s version of the look better than what Katie and her partner did for the photo of the clothes. If the clothes were more affordable I might even consider buying them. But those prices are way out of my price range and many other peoples price range I am sure!!!!!

I love the comfort and practicality of this outfit……..It’s a fresh idea and does’ t constrict your body like the skinny jeans do…your body can breathe and I thank Holmes for this wonderful and healthy idea.

it an ok outfit but I wouldn’t wear it

i think she looks nice in the outfit….it looks good on her…the two models that are wearing the outfit looks drab….

I couldn’t see spending that kind of money on clothes .. period .. but good for them… as for how it looks, it looks good on her the way she has it, but you also have to have the body for it to pull it off (or put it on haha) like she did

Love the outfit on Rihanna! I’m sure Katie is flattered to have her wearing her clothes – and is probably delighted at the edgy twist Rihanna put on the jacket & trousers.
