If Kelly Osbourne Designed Plus-Size Clothes, Would You Buy Them?

As Kelly Osbourne has steadily become more and more of a fashion presence (hosting E!’s Fashion Police, appearing on red carpets all over the globe, picking a signature hair hue), we figured a celebrity clothing line couldn’t be far off.

What we didn’t expect was that it would be a plus-size-friendly celebrity clothing line.

The star, who famously went through public weight struggles before permanently slimming down in 2010, let slip to Fashionista.com that her upcoming clothing line (surprise! It’s happening!) will be all-inclusive.

“I was having fun but no one takes notice of a fat girl in fashion,” she says of her experiences at a heavier weight. “That’s the truth! It’s sad. That’s why I love women like Beth Ditto who are doing their own clothes. That’s why when my line comes out I’ll never make anything that won’t be translated to plus-size as well. Because everyone deserves to wear fashion.”

She is totally tight-lipped about any details in the interview, confessing only that the line is underway. But we can’t say we’re surprised that Osbourne, who has transformed herself from punk princess to fashion-savvy star, is already planning on fashion world domination.

Tell us: Would you check out Kelly Osbourne’s fashion line? What do you think about her plans to do plus-size?

I have a large tummy issue, are you going to think about that?

Dianne Riley on

Yes! Just because we have plus-size bodies, doesn’t mean we don’t like stylish, current fashion. The all polyester, big floral or stripe patterns, tunic length, cap sleeve or sleeveless, deep U necklines are not for us, but that’s what’s available.

Reblogged this on fashionsvictims and commented:
If i was i would, but i support kelly 100%
U go girl

Shirley Gentry on

I agree with Dianne Riley, what is available to us is not flattering. We all like to look good.

Melissa on

Yes, I would. I hope she keeps in mind that shirts need to be a lil longer and not wider. Those of us who are busty like to cover our tummies.

Wilma on

What a silly question. I mean, to ask people if they would buy clothes from a line before they even see the clothes, is just silly. It doesnt matter much who designs the clothes. It matters what the clothes look like and what they look like on a person’s body. Kelly Osborne or not; Plus-size or not, if it looks good on, people will buy it.

Debbie on

Of course, if they are reasonably priced…hope they will be!

bakerlady on

I would if they are reasonably priced and IF +size isn’t a size 12.We like to look good too. The sands of time have just shifted some.

Okay…now that you have told the world….show us the fashions! Any idea of the date for the first showing?!!!
Can barely wait to see current fashions for us all!!!

Thank you Kelly for thinking about the Plus-size women who struggle day to day on what there going to wear, its a tough job to decide what looks good on an plus size women, I’m 5’11” 232 lbs,and still I have trouble in length, waist, sleeves. its crazy but the truth. I support your Plus-size line and if you need a model I’m available.

Stephanie on

I would be interested to see what she’ll offer. Being a former plus-sized woman and having a Mom who was also plus-sized; she has a background and understands what we need and what is and (hopefully) what is NOT flattering. I enjoy most of her fashions even though I’d tone it down for my lifestyle. :) Good for her! I hope she’s a huge success! For all sizes!!

I think it’s fantastic that Kelly has found her niche! I can’t wait to see her clothing line and knowing a BBW, like me will be able to wear them is great!

Carol Stasuik on

I just hope that she uses plus size women with real plus size figures unlike the plus size catologs I get. I look forward to seeing her fashions.

Alan Shapiro on

If the clothes looked stylish, fit properly and were affordable does it really matter who designed them?

Karmah on

I like some of her things. I’d buy them if the price was right.

Karen Turner on

Will I buy them? That depends on who will be making these clothes. Will they be made overseas by child laborers? Will they be made by women who are paid pennies and must support their families? It all depends. If these clothes are made ethically and responsibly, I’m definitely open to seeing what she has to sell.

DEBBIE on

No. I can’t stand what she wears on fashion police and I often disagree with her opinions on what others wear. I prefer a classic non trendy look which I doubt will be what Kelly produces.

Angel on

I would NOT buy any of her Plus-Size clothes because she has made extremely rude comments regarding Christina Aguilera’s weight (yeah, I know Christina did it to Kelly & she was wrong as well). Kelly is part of the “Fashion Police” and does nothing more than make fun of, judge & ridicule people. When young girls watch “Fashion Police” they see how people are being made fun of for their weight & that sends a VERY negative message to these young girls which could lead to serious eating disorders for fear of being bullied/taunted for not fitting into that “perfect” idea that the entertainment industry (including the “Fashion Police”) has horribly created.

BRENDA MERLE on

KELLY OSBOURN IS SUCH A TALENTED AND ARTISTIC YOUNG LADY THAT I WOULD FEEL 100% COMFORTABLE WEARING HER LINE. I’M NOT PLUS SIZE BUT HAVE FAMILY THAT IS SO I WILL BE SHOPPING HER LINE WHEN IT COMES OUT. CAN’T STAND THE KHARDASHIAN DRAMA AND CLOTHING LINE, THEY’RE TOO CONCEITED (EXCEPT KHLOE) AND ONLY THINK OF THE SLINKY LOOK. WHERE’S THE CLASS? KELLY HAS CLASS!!!!!!

Kathie on

if they’re not too expensive yeah i’d buy em
