What to Wear This Weekend, From Date Night to Brunch
We can’t get you these three stars’ super-shiny hair, but we can recommend more affordable versions of the pitch-perfect outfits they assembled for every event you’ve got coming up this weekend — and right on into the work week.
Saturday night: Yes, this outfit is just a leather jacket, a tee, great jeans and sexy heels. But we think it’s definitive proof that you absolutely must have these four things in your wardrobe: Just check out how incredibly adorable they look on Amanda Seyfried! Sure, her moto jacket, luxe carryall and cherry-red pumps combined probably cost more than our rent, but you can get a lookalike outfit without breaking the bank, promise.
BB Dakota makes some of our favorite faux leather — it’s cute and comfy, without that squeaky pleather feel you can get sometimes with affordable poly. This Kensie woven block satchel is chic and practical for work or play, and then of course, the pièce de resistance: The perfect pair of red suede pumps (these are just $56!) You (and your boyfriend) can thank us later.

Sunday brunch: Temps are dropping in N.Y.C., so we’ve been on the lookout for something with sleeves to wear in the breezy a.m. hours. So let’s all thank Olivia Palermo for doing the legwork for us, nabbing this super-adorable (and super-affordable — love ya, O.P.) Asos paisley mini and putting it together in one cute outfit.
Olivia knows that adding classic accessories will elevate a dress from cute to killer, so she played up the bold color with an elegant red satchel (this Express bag has the same barrel style for a fraction of the cost) and a pretty cuff (rent a similar one by Kenneth Jay Lane at Rent the Runway for just $20). Then she finished the look with one of her signature moves: A contrasting-print pair of shoes for a little surprise. These Nasty Gal flats aren’t too pricey and will go with anything!
Monday morning: Leave it to Lady Mary to come up with the perfect ladylike look for you to steal for a Monday morning meeting. Her Ann Taylor blouse is sleek and elegant with a pair of black pants and pumps, though if you work in an artsier office, you could swap in printed trousers or colorful pumps to give the look even more kick.
If you can’t wait for Michelle Dockery’s blouse to hit stores, you can get a similar look with this Calvin Klein number (on sale now!) and because we’re feeling sassy and hope you are too, here’s a cute pair of C. Wonder print pants to try.
