Louise Roe Helps Us Pull Off Tricky Trends In Three Easy Steps
Louise Roe keeps it real every week with us on Style Pop and looks amazing doing it.
Which is why we’ll happily take any style advice she wants to share with us — and luckily for us, she’s just as happy to share.
Our first question: What’s the trick to wearing the bold colors she pulls off so effortlessly on the show?
“I feel more happy and awake in color,” Roe says. “[I] don’t worry about which colors are supposed to be for a certain season. The way I wear it is to team it with a warm neutral rather than black. I think black can cheapen a bright color. Mix it with caramel, toffee or cream; it looks so much more elegant.”
Also on her list of tricks for pulling off trends: “Don’t underestimate the importance of fit. If something’s too tight or the wrong length, it won’t feel right, and then you won’t look right.”
And finally, Roe advises skipping splurges on anything too trendy — and rather than picking up a cheap, of-the-moment piece of clothing, to spend that trend money on accessories instead. “You can think about ways to breathe new life into pieces,” she says. “Maybe there are red jeans you’ve never worn. You can buy new shoes and make them look fresh.”
