Your wish has just been granted, StyleWatchers! Sarah Jessica Parker is about to step into some new – and very fashionable – shoes as she is now the designer of her own label (pause for tears of joy).

Alas, we have to wait until 2014 for the collection, which will include footwear, handbags and trench coats, to become available exclusively at Nordstrom. Luckily, SJP dished on her design plans.

In a nod to her trend-obsessed Sex in the City alter ego, Carrie Bradshaw, Parker plans to create some innovative styles for her brand. For the shoes (rumored to range from $200s to the mid-$300s), Parker wants to experiment with interesting color combinations like mocha and navy.

“This idea that black and brown are the only neutrals is done,” Parker told Footwear News, “that’s so liberating for the shoe business.”

Parker, who’s launching the label with Manolo Blahnik president George Malkemus, explained why she chose to put on her design hat again, after her Bitten line for Steve & Barry’s folded in 2009 and she left her position at Halston Heritage in 2011.

“There were many years where opportunities existed [but], the timing wasn’t right,” she said. “In the more recent past, the conversation erupted again, and I took it more seriously.”

And we are sure glad she did. The shoes, said to include a variety of heel heights, will strive for comfort, perhaps due to her recent comments on how high heels have wrecked her feet.

“When it gets really, really high and your achilles is shoved back into your calf as far as it can go, that’s when I see that ‘shuffle’ happen in women,” Parker said. “Part of me feels responsible for it because [those heels] were a big part of our storytelling on the show.”

Finally of her collection, Parker added, “I really hope people like it.” Safe to say we will, SJP!

she is the LAST person’s name I would buy—shoes, clothes, anything. She looks like a mess.

This type of action by the ‘Rich and Famous does not impress me! Just the RICH getting richer. Wanna impress fans? Start a FREE SHOE COLLECTION for Poverty Stricken Children.

she needs to cut that ski slope of moose nose off her face then try being fashionable.

Don’t bother getting invested! SJP is not a professional and she doesn’t appreciate her customers. I have been trying to buy Lovely, her cologne but can’t find it anywhere so I’ve emailed and posted on Facebook many times and I never get a response. Her website gives a list of places that carry the cologne but it is woefully out of date. This is not the way to do business but SJP either doesn’t know or doesn’t care! I won’t buy anything else of her because I know she won’t stand behind it!

Just what the world needs: another fashion line by a non-designer/”celebrity”. Note to SJP: why not put your energy and new-found “designer sense” toward a charity…like donating shoes women’s shelters.

SJP was the actor wearing what the STYLIST PATRICIA FIELD told her to wear. Patricia should be offered the designer role not the dummies whom she dresses! It’s like asking Julia Roberts to design a hooker dress line, ughhh people, she’s not a real hooker and ughhh people SJP is not the fashion queen Carrie you think exists in NYC, IT WAS A CHARACTER! Wow Corporate America makes fortunes off idiot bimbos that only think about spending money on what they think fashion is, I agree with the other commenters, please DO SOMETHING POSITIVE AND WORTHY AND FOCUS ON SOMETHING THAT MATTERS

SJP has an amazing sense of style. I am looking forward to the launch and to quality stylish products. Most celebrities have stylists, but SJP adds her own touches and wears pieces many wouldn’t dare to don. The rich do their fair share of charity. Get over it.
