Selena Gomez: I'm Writing Songs For Justin Bieber

If you noticed Selena Gomez‘s style is getting pretty edgy post-Bieber breakup, well, good, you were supposed to.

In the June issue of InStyle (check out an exclusive inside pic below!) the star says that as part of her growing period, she’s hoping to push fashion boundaries. “I like to show a little bit of skin in a nice way,” she says. “I love picking out clothes, and it would be a blast to just play dress-up all the time.”

But she also admits that the pressure to get on a best-dressed list stresses her out, and so does her future career, her new music — you name it. “I’m stressed out most of the time,” she shares.

The one thing that isn’t really causing her stress these days: her love life. Despite her on-again, off-again relationship relationship with Justin Bieber, Gomez swears she’s trying to take dating slow.

“I’m from Texas, so I should be married with children already,” she tells the magazine. “I’m in love with love and totally believe in marriage, but that’s not even on my radar right now. I am not putting energy into dating.”

And though she may not be putting energy into dating, songwriting is a totally different story. She admits to penning a track on her new album just for Bieber, which she calls “personal” and adds “I’m sure he’ll love it, too.”

For more from Gomez, check out InStyle.com and the June issue, on stands May 17, and tell us: What do you think of Gomez’s new, edgier side?

I’ve loved Selena since Wizards of Waverly Place. She is so sweet and down to earth. She really has came into her own style wise and knowing what she wants and what her goals are. Great role model!

I just don’t like Selena at all. I loved Wizards of Waverly Place but she barely acted on there and played a really nonchalant role and she can’t sing…she’s just so bland for a Latina too!

I love all these Texas women standing up for our state! I am proud to be from texas- I’m a college student with no kids and I have never been married. Screw you Selena and your stereotype bs!

Such a beautiful girl and way too good for Bieber.

I didn’t particularly like the Texas comment but what else can you expect from a girl her age. I wish she would just stay away from Justin…he will be very bad news for her if she stays with him…his 15 mins of fame are way up. If you want a baby…just look at who you are dating

Poor Selena stressed out over the pressure of getting on the best dressed list. Her llife is just pure stress. GIMME A BREAK. Lost me as a fan little big headed girl. Drop your better than though attitude a little. 20 years from now you are going to really be stressed when your cute little face and hot little body are old and wrinkled. I really am not impressed.

To Evian: Do you realize you just did the exact same things she did that offended you so much? She stereotyped about women from Texas and you stereotyped about women from Arkansas and Mexico! I will assume that you did not mean anything bad by it, but perhaps she didn’t either. And to those taking offense, she did not say you could not have a college degree and career! While I do think celebreties giving interviews need to be more aware of what they are saying, I also think we need to lighten up and not take everything so personally! They are humans too and far from perfect, just like the rest of us

Is the Texas comment really that out of left field? I get the impression that a lot of women get married younger there than maybe they do in other parts of the country. If you’re saying she’s making it up, that’s one thing. But if you don’t happen to fit that mold, despite that it DOES happen a lot there? Relax.
