Gwyneth Paltrow: 'I Won't Do Botox Again ... I Looked Like Joan Rivers!'

Gwyneth Paltrow‘s life is all about balance these days. She’s balancing her movie career with her business ventures. Being a mom with finding time for herself.

And, she confesses in the May issue of Harper’s Bazaar, “finding the balance between cigarettes and tofu.”

The healthy-living queen, who admits in her revealing interview that she treats herself to one cigarette a week, also owns up to mixing high-tech skincare with organic products.

But when it comes to more than just laser treatments, she’s still hesitant. “I would be scared to go under the knife, but you know, talk to me when I’m 50. I’ll try anything. Except I won’t do Botox again, because I looked crazy. I looked like Joan Rivers!”

Paltrow also says she’d love to move from the artsier films she’s known for to an “outrageous girl comedy” — not least of all, we assume, because she doesn’t have to get in the superhero shape necessary for her skin-baring scenes in Iron Man 3.

Not that it’s such a challenge, though: “There are certain requirements, but luckily I have a good base because I work out often,” she says. “I just had to not eat pasta and french fries the night before shooting– which I’m terrible at doing.”

For lots more candid conversation from the star — including how Jay-Z has inspired her and whether she’ll have another baby — visit and pick up the new issue, on stands April 23.

Ok let’s keep it real… Joan rivers knows she looks like “Joan rivers”!!

Amanda, fries don’t have gluten, and they do make gluten-free pasta.

Being a former smoker, I can totally understand wanting to have that “one cigarette a week”. But I had to be committed to quitting, not only for the obvious reasons, but because of an underlying health condition. I’m glad she’s trying to be healthier, and I’ve always loved Ms. Paltrow, but she needs to stop trying to push her “healthy” ways of life. And the fact that she was influenced by Jay-Z? Sorry, but that just knocked her down a couple of notches in my eyes.

@Molly, I don’t think people expect celebrities to be perfect and superhuman, but the problem I have with gwyneth is that she acts like ahe is perfect. She is extremely condescending, and I’m all for self-confidence, but she comes across as arrogant. Her handlers need to shut down goop and have her stop doing interviews. A little mystery is a good thing!!

What movie career? And quit the cig’s already you hypocrite! This coming from the woman who once said she would rather die than feed her kids soup out of a can, but yet she pumps herself full of nicotine. Loser

Seems like Gweny is trying too hard to look ‘normal’ to get rid of the ‘nice’ image. A few weeks ago she was quoted saying she used to take beta blockers (or some sh!t like that) with alcohol b4 getting on a plane…. some crazy statement, didn’t make much sense.
It’s OK to be who you are, relax there’re not many ‘normal’ people left in society today.

Think she added the cigarette comment for the reaction she knew it would receive? Any publicity is good publicity! I wrote her off when she appeared on Oprah, shortly after the birth of her first child….and it was the big “reveal” of her daughter’s name. Gwyneth looked at the audience and said something to the effect of “Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve heard that I had a baby!”. So, if I didn’t know about her pregnancy/delivery, I’m a nobody? OF COURSE we know all about you, GOOP, and have been clinging to the every detail of your pregnancy-NOT! Ever since then, I can not watch a movie or interview of her.

She always comes off sounding so needy, unrealistic and insecure in these interviews she does. It’s like she’s trying to justify her scattered way of thinking by making these “life recommendations”. She should just do whatever she’s doing and stop talking about it. Like it’s always some kind of announcement what she ate for dinner.
