Ireland Baldwin: Mom Kim Basinger Gives Me Modeling Tips

Ireland Baldwin promised she was ready to work, and she wasn’t kidding: the 17-year-old daughter of Alec Baldwin and Kim Basinger has already cranked her modeling career into high gear.

“I’m getting into it. Doing it right,” Baldwin told reporters at the Avion Espresso-sponsored N.Y.C. premiere of The Company You Keep. “I want to know where it’s going to take me!”

Baldwin listed models that inspire her, including Miranda Kerr, Kate Moss — “Oh! And my mom, of course!” — adding that Basinger is playing modeling coach on the photoshoot sets.

“My mom’s very happy she can finally give me tips,” Baldwin said. “She’s always there, so she’ll stand in the back and say, ‘Turn your head this way, or do this!'”

And we thought it was only our moms telling us to stand up straight!

Tell us: Are you excited to see Baldwin’s first modeling shots?

She’s a pretty girl. Her mom was pretty in her days too, but she doesn’t seem like a very nice lady. Then again, what do I know? I don’t know her. Haha.

She’s attractive, but her mom was stunning. I wonder how much work she’s getting because of the name?

Jennifer on

She doesn’t look 17. She looks about the same age as her mother.

Rolyat on

Her Mother truly had super model looks in her day. Kim was stunning. I don’t see super model looks in her. But good luck.

dede on

She not attractive like her mother . She looks average at best.

I wonder if she is still the selfish little pig that her father said she was.

I’m sooooo sick of this trend that kids from famous parents or famous sibs (Kendall Jenner is now a model thanks to the fame of her sisters) are given an automatic pass even if it’s not warranted. Sorry, but this girl does not have what it takes to be a model. Neither does Kendall Jenner.

@ dede: One does not need looks to get into acting or modeling if they come from a show business family.

She looks very tall and lean. Isn’t that what you need to be a model? The Baldwin name certainly won’t hurt.

She is gorgeous! She got the best of both parents.

Pretty girl!!

Guest on

She looks more like Daryl Hannah.

Lilly on

What makes her model material? Because she’s Alec Baldwin & Kim Basinger’s kid? So what!

Persephone on

I think she is beautiful in her own right! She doesn’t need to be compared to her mom; they are different people. She is unique and hopefully people can start to see that!

Sorry, but most models are not all that attractive without all the makeup…there are some.

She’s such an interesting combination of both parents, sometimes she really looks like Kim, while I do see a lot of Alec in her eyes and pouty lips..though Kim has a lovely pout too.

She’s a young girl who’s excited about this opportunity. I don’t see why anyone has to be hateful. Feel happy for others and you may know more happiness. I wish her the best – Baldwin name or not.

Kim Basinger was gorgeous.. her daughter is pretty but no where near how gorgeous her mother was/is.

Sooo tired of the mommy and daddy are famous so you get to be too. Why don’t these people make their kids go to college??? Not smart enough I guess. There isn’t anything spectacular about her…..go away please.

she is very attractive! my bf couldn’t take his eyes off her!

Pretty girl, but doesn’t have her mother’s stunning looks or her sparkling personality. I would never pick Ireland out of a crowd, other than to notice she’s as tall as a giraffe. I’m not seeing “supermodel” material in Ireland – and I think she should go to college instead of riding on her parent coattails. Let’s face it, she got the job because of her connections. Which is fine – but she’d be better off going to college and getting an education.

There are so many models who work regularly and I wouldn’t call them “stunning”. Miranda Kerr is attractive and has a great figure, but she isn’t “stunning”. Same would be said for Heidi Klum; pretty, but not stunning. What a model really needs is to be able to wear clothes well, walk well in the clothes, and carry off “the look” necessary to make the clothes look great. If you are demanding “stunning”, Liz Taylor was, and she never modeled–she was an actress.

Oh, and most people are sick of seeing the “selfish pig” remark brought up. Long ago and far away, and it needs to stay there. If Ireland isn’t worrying about it, you shouldn’t be either!

Very pretty, wholesome looking, All-American girl. I think her mother had more of the sexy sizzling look. I hope she does well.

She is an average looking girl who doesn’t deserve accolade. Her mother is stunning, but apparently a nut. What her mother SHOULD be doing is helping “Ireland” (ridiculous name) prepare for college so that she can have an education and perhaps do something meaningful with her life. Ridiculous. The swimsuit photos are tacky, vulgar, and silly. She is only seventeen. I guess this is what becomes of kids who have two idiots for parents. Good Luck, Ireland.
