This makes headlines the same day I receive news of a young 13 year old orphan being held hostage by a hospital in Kenya that will not release her until she pays a 900.00 medical bill for a life saving surgery. Tell me, why should Gaga be applauded for her style sense? Her blinged out wheelchair could pay this girls medical bill 10x and over. Bleck. Gaga’s lavish and self-indulgent lifestyle is nothing to model your life after.

@Scarlett Not all criticism stems from a need to compensate for a low self-esteem, and your generalization that anyone criticizing Gaga must only be doing so because they are unhappy with themselves only makes you seem as judgmental as you accused others of being. Believe it or not, sometimes people will criticize something or someone because they genuinely feel that it’s wrong. Gaga may have a right to do whatever she wants with her money, but that doesn’t make everything she does with her money right. Lady Gaga is in a position of power, where many people look to her as a role model, and just like anyone in that position she is (and should be) subject to much more scrutiny. The day people start letting those who are in a position to influence generations of people behave however they want without worrying what kind of message it’s sending to society, I think that’s the day we can say we truly gave up trying.

She should be walking around if she had hip surgery. Any surgeon or physiotherapist will tell you that.

Why are some people so concerned about what she does with her money? She worked for it, and she can spend it on whatever she wants. And yes, she does donate to charity, she can’t save everyone.

Send out a press release about said glam-chair being fit for a queen and when the queen is back together again, it will be auctioned off to raise funds for a medical charity. Problem solved, except it wasn’t.

this girl can do whatever she wants with her money. if she wants to feel good by buying a nice looking wheelchair, then why cant she? she legitimately needs to be in a wheelchair, and she earned the money! until you give up ALL of your worldly possessions and give your hard earned money to the less fortunate, you have no room to judge whatsoever. if you are reading this and typing a comment on a computer, you have more than enough to help these people you are talking about. not to mention, last year alone she gave MILLIONS to charity, which you will probably never earn in your miserable life. so look in your own backyard before you start tossing sh*t in other peoples.

Sounds like Obama needs to hit up Gaga to pay for the White House tours for kids. She seems to have plenty of cash to go around.

There are people that can’t afford cancer treatments for themselves or thier children, or even just basic care for themselves. This woman spent god knows what on a wheel chair. Sell the damn thing and buy 50 regular ones and give them to the crippled homeless vets who have no where to go. Jerk.

To me, it has nothing to do with how much she spent on that chair as opposed to how much she gives charity. I have no idea whether Lady Gaga donates to charity or not, and if so how much. What bothers me is the significance of it, or, in other words, the fact that IT’S A FRICKIN WHEELCHAIR. Something millions of handicapped and/or sick people need in order to have any quality of life! This has got to be one of the greatest displays of frivolity I have ever seen. The fact that people would defend this says a lot about our culture and the world we live in. I wonder if reactions would be the same if she had bathed a plate of food in gold just because she can. The significance is pretty much the same. It’s as if she’s saying ‘Look everybody, see this thing people need to survive or live with dignity but can’t always afford? Well I have it in solid gold!’ It’s not about how much money she may or may not donate, doing so does not giver her a free pass to be inconsiderate.

It’s SWAG, people. A total freebie made for her and given to her as a gift from a designer. Free. She didn’t purchase the damn thing. So quit your ragging. It’s an endorsement opportunity for her, and free advertising for Ken Borochov. I mean, for what it’s worth, you never kick a gift
horse in the mouth…that and a lot of artists will agree to use designers’ products in exchange for a donation to a chosen charity.

I think she is the reincarnation of Joan Crawford, great at what she does, but truly no class. She may end up like Joan broke and alone. GaGa is entitled to spend her money how she likes, but then she has to be prepared along with other celebs that spend on foolish things or over indulge that those of us that are struggling may find them useless.

There are people in this world that would die to have one meal in their stomach each day, but Gaga can afford to throw her money away on an over the top wheel chair that she is only going to use while recovery from surgery .. that is so terribly over the top vain! Really Gaga, put your money where your mouth is and help the less fortunate instead

Ugh! At least she can get out of that wheelchair and walk! I suffered a spinal cord injury and I am paralyzed from the waist down. My wheelchair isn’t blinged out and I use it 24/7!

Wow people starve and kids go hungry and she gets a chair like a queen. It is sad that priorities are all wrong.

Here she is rolling around in an expensive wheelchair where people like me are struggling to pay rent and figure out how I can buy a mattress. She makes me sick! Donate to charity! Especially those affected by hurricane sandy!

i don’t even think the queen would invest in something like that.
