Exactly What to Use to Get Olivia Wilde's Sexy, Smoky Eye
Olivia Wilde has tried on all sorts of new looks in her role as Revlon brand ambassador, but we must say we’re really loving her latest: the smoldering eye created for her by makeup artist Melanie Inglessis.
And not just because we’ve got smoky eyes on the brain lately. The star’s makeup, worn to the L.A. premiere of The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, is classic, elegant and easy to replicate yourself. And the best part? Since all the products are Revlon, you can run out and pick them up on your way home.
With the the star’s sophisticated Gucci gown in mind, Inglessis created a “chic and fresh” sultry eye look. She applied PhotoReady Eye Primer to keep everything in place, then traced the top and bottom lid with ColorStay Eyeliner in Black. “The darker around the rim of the eyes, the sexier it will look,” Inglessis advises.
Next up: a coat of ColorStay Smoky Shadow Stick in Torch topped with the burgundy hue from the Precocious ColorStay 16H Eyeshadow Quad. Following extensive blending with two different size brushes, Inglessis added Luxurious Color Diamond Lust Eyeshadow in Starry Pink, because “I like to blend a smoky eye with a strong but light shimmer eyeshadow on the outside,” she says.
Finally, a few coats of 3D Volume Mascara on curled lashes, PhotoReady Cream Blush in Pinched on her cheeks and ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick in Front Row for a creamy, light pink finish. To get the look right, Inglessis shares, apply it with “[your] finger, building the color for a natural and polished look.”
