'The Bachelor' Engagement Ring: All the Details!

When jewelry designer Neil Lane landed in Chiang Rai, Thailand, he came bearing six engagement rings to show Bachelor Sean Lowe.

“Sean took it very seriously and looked carefully at each of his choices — including round- and princess-cuts — but once he saw the cushion-cut stone with all the romantic details, he knew this one was perfect,” says Lane, of the 3.15-carat platinum-and-diamond sparkler Lowe slipped on Catherine Giudici’s finger during his teary-eyed proposal on the show finale. “When he made his choice — of the ring, and of which woman he was picking — he was absolutely certain.”

Lowe was eager for the vintage-inspired ring to reflect Giudici’s “style, spirit and fashion sense,” says Lane. “He was really into it and loved that the cushion-cut was soft and romantic, with a vintage vibe that connected the modern and the past. It resonated with him since it combined Catherine’s sensibility as a modern woman with an appreciation for the past, and older things.”

The ring, which a giddy Giudici calls “classic and timeless,” features a center diamond exquisitely set with 164 smaller round diamonds. “Sean was so great to work with — one of the nicest, most sincere guys and a real gentleman,” says the celebrated designer, pictured below with Lowe. “And most importantly, he was confident he had found the love of his life in Catherine. I’m so happy for them!”

I like it that Catherine did not even look at the ring….it is the most genuine relationship I have seen on this show…

Usually I think these are gaudy but hers is stunning

I think it is really beautiful. But, I have a question. If the couple do not marry, does the girl keep the ring, or does it have to go back to the program, or does the Bachelor have to pay for it?

It is the exact same ring from bachelor Ben’s and bachelor Brad’s seasons. Google it. Hopefully it is in fact a brand new ring and not recycled, but what are the chances that they pick the same? Either it is recycled,or they don’t have a choice of 6 rings.

Diamond mining is a vicious, cruel, and lethal process. I so respect people who do without diamonds. There are other ways. And engagement rings are just baubles; why not donate money to people with no water, no food, no hope?

Look around you in Thailand and see the prostitutes under age 14, the cocaine addicts under age 9, the polluted rivers and villages with no health care. Then enjoy your ring.

great looking ring and such a happy and blissed out couple. Just thrilled for them. Wishing them a lifetime of happiness!
