Style Rx: It’s Okay to Wear Maternity Clothes, Kim!

Who: Kim Kardashian

Where: Headed to a photo shoot in Los Angeles

Diagnosis: This seems to be a recurring case with our patient lately, as she’s chosen many peplum tops and dresses throughout the early stages of her pregnancy. Fine, but this particular pair of pants, while defining our subject’s waistline, has a ruffle right around what’s usually the widest part on any woman: the hips. The off-color animal print induces vertigo, and the too-tight top might make breathing difficult.

Prescription: A day of shopping at a maternity store. With several months to go in her pregnancy, our patient should stock up on flowy, flattering dresses, tops and bump-friendly jeans that say, “ahhh,” not, “AHHH!” We’re glad to see our subject taking such advice to heart already, and hope she continues to use our antidote as prescribed.

When did maternity clothes become so undesirable? You are pregnant, you can get cute clothes that don’t strangle your baby.

Oh dear. I know the feeling well. Trying sooo hard to stay in your normal clothes that you can’t see reality slapping you in the face. Just let it go Kim. You can wear the waaayy too tight mini dresses in a year or so. Let this be the time you grow as a person and realize that your focus should only be on the baby. No need to look like a scrounge, just dress in some nice maternity items that are cut for a growing figure. You’ll be fine!!! (see! No need to degrade her for her poor fashion choices)

Maxi dresses were my Savior while pregnant. Never had to worry about a waist band or plumbers crack or a peekaboo belly every time I bent over.

I get what she thinks, if she doesn’t define her boobs, it makes her feel like she has no shape, but she needs to switch to maxi dresses, and kimono sleeve tops, and sweaters.
