The One Item of Clothing Elle Fanning Refuses to Wear

We’ve seen Elle Fanning rock everything from a ’70s-inspired purple pantsuit to a velvet Pilgrim-style dress, but there is something you will never spot the star in: skinny jeans.
“For a long time, I refused to wear jeans. I liked high-waisted pants, but jeans made me feel like I wasn’t being unique,” Fanning says in the latest issue of New York Magazine.
The 14-year-old has since lifted her ban on denim — though skinnies still have no place in her closet. “Even now, I won’t wear the skinny-jeans style, because most people wear those. They have to be baggier, boyfriend-looking, or sort of like a mom jean.”
And just like with her style, Fanning likes to experiment in the beauty department, too. Inspired by Chanel’s recent resort show, she gave pink eyeshadow a shot. (What, like you didn’t base your makeup off the Chanel runway when you were in eighth grade?)
