Whoa! Carrie Underwood Wears $31 Million Diamond Necklace

02/10/2013 at 07:43 PM ET

Carrie Underwood is nominated for a few Grammys, but she’s already earned one honor tonight: The award for the Most Expensive Jewelry.

The county star stepped out in more than $31 million worth of Johnathon Arndt gems. Her necklace featured 381 carats of oval, pear, marquise and round brilliant white diamonds.

Okay, now that we’ve picked our jaws up off the floor, we can continue … She paired the stunner with an embroidered black strapless Roberto Cavalli gown.

“It’s heavy on my soul,” Underwood told E! News of the creation. “I’m afraid someone is going to tackle me and steal it … It’s worth more than me.” Well, we don’t know about all that, Carrie … Tell us: Can you believe her necklace cost that much?

I would give her a free pearl necklace

Wow, with so many Americans in turmoil why flaunt 31 million dollars on your person. These days I struggle keeping $31 in my pocket! Who am I to you? NOONE. How much heartless could you be? Thanks for the reminding me, PEOPLE SUCK! 31 million dollars could greatly impact many Americans lives.

In the mid 80’s, $30M was the price of an F-14 Tomcat figher jet. Either the dollar has lost alot of value, or they are paying stars way too much nowadays.

She didn’t buy the necklace. They are commonly loaned to the stars for award night.

Is this something to be proud of? Did she cure disease, bring world peace, find clean energy sources, bring clean water and food with hope to the needy?
Americans are so misdirected as to whom we should admire.

Yeah,
But it’s not too heavy on her soul to contemplate how many people could’ve eaten for months on the amount of food that necklace could provide.
It’s a beautiful necklace and she looks great wearing it, but it’s hypocritical to act like you’re aware of what you’re wearing when you step out in something like that.
If she were a regular joe on the street, she wouldn’t be allowed within 300 feet of that ice, so why act like she’s humbled by it?
Do any of these celebs EVER contemplate what the money spent on such ridiculous baubles could do for those in need?

Embarrassing that a rock is worth that much, and that these “people” are so detached from what is really valuable. What should be “heavy on her soul” is how ridiculous she is to wear it.

It’s not heavy on her soul. She’s a lost soul.

I seriously hope it was rented or I just lost a lot of respect for this woman. That is an absurd amount of money that could be used to feed millions of hungry mouths.
