Miley Cyrus: My Short Hair Is Here to Stay -- Forever!

Hope you weren’t too attached to Miley Cyrus‘s long hair, because she has a message for you: “I could never see myself having long, long hair again.”

“I’m feeling it!” the star tells E! News of her close crop. “My fiancé [Liam Hemsworth] loves it. It’s so much easier to go shave the sides once a week, rather than getting your roots done and all this stuff.”

And it’s not just that she prefers the low maintenance of her new do: she actually hates the way she looks with long locks. “I do not like looking back at [photos of my long hair],” she says. “I wish somebody would have ripped those [extensions] out of my head. I do not miss that in any way.”

Though we initially found the chop surprising, it’s definitely growing on us (no pun intended) — and we love that Cyrus keeps finding new, fun ways to style her shorter do. Tell us: Do you love Cyrus’s awesome attitude about her hair as much as we do?

i agree with daffygram, who really cares.

Unless you are young, most women cannot pull off long, lucious locks — so short, sassy & sexy hair is perfectly fine. Good for Miley! She seems more confident than ever, and not held back by anything or what people perceive her to be!

While I kinda like the hair and think it’s good for her and every other young girl/woman to see that long hair isn’t the only way to look pretty and sexy(personally I’ve had mine from pixie cuts of a few millimeters to mid waist length) am I the only one that finds it amusing she’s saying that she doesn’t miss “getting her roots done”?I applaud her for sticking with it and not caring for all the negative comments, but when your hair is as dyed as hers must be to get it to such a bleached blond,I’m sorry but that’s actually more maintenance than having your roots touched up every 3-4 weeks, since every week when you go in to have your sides “shaved” you shave off the color and have to redye it all over again!

I mean good for her for keeping her hair short if she wants it that way,but saying it’s less maintenance than long hair is untrue!I’m gonna bet she spends as much time in an hair salon prior to a public appearance as she did with her longer hair.

She has such beautiful eyes and the short haircut really accentuates them!!! She’s young, any style works!

Okay, initially I didn’t like her short hair. To be honest, for years, Miley Cyrus was entirely annoying in my opinion. She just irked me. But now that she’s getting a little older (I’m 31 so I’m not saying 20 is so old trust me lol), I find her candor a little refreshing. And I’m liking her short hair. I get that people say it looks like she’s copying Pink’s hair cut, or Gwen Stefani’s style, but I honestly think she was so handled as a child star on Disney, being told what to wear, how to behave, what to say, what to do with her hair, that she really is just trying to make her own choices. And by extension, be her own woman. I do like it. I’m personally sick and tired of the real housewives of whatever city and all the big female celebs with their ridiculously long hair. Extensions or real hair, it’s so safe. I find it bolder when they actually have something shorter than waist length hair. I thought it was bold when Miley got her long bob style cut awhile back, and I think it’s much bolder that she went for a full out pixie cut. It’s not flattering on everyone, but she has a good shaped face and she has a really nice body she undoubtedly works very hard to keep so slim, and I think she pulls it off well now that I actually look at her and I’m not shocked to see her with such short hair. If I never knew of Miley Cyrus I would say “cool haircut” seeing a pic of her now. I don’t like that pouf style in the 3rd pic but that was for an event and I imagine the goal was to be theatrical and outrageous and that’s not regular day to day hair. Who cares. Hair is just hair and I think it’s unhealthy to fixate so much on it, especially when on People we have beautiful blogs from Diem Brown about her struggles with ovarian cancer for the second time and the trauma of losing her hair. Maybe if we didn’t make long locks so important, women undergoing cancer treatments wouldn’t feel quite so bad about losing theirs. Of course it would still be traumatic but I think part of the issue is we’re all taught that long hair is the epitome of femininity and beauty and anything short of that (no pun intended) isn’t beautiful and it’s masculine in fact. Ultimately hair is just hair and we should all be allowed to style ours however we want. Variety makes life more fun. And if she and her fiance like it then we all can have our opinions but Miley Cyrus sure doesn’t have to listen.

I love the fact Liam seems to like it (the haircut):-) He could be such a man that stands by clichés… He’s so good looking, we could think he would ask for a Barbie doll… Seems like not:-)

Short hair is fun. Just my own personal opinion :)

We already have Pink for this style. Go back to longer hair, Miley. You don’t need the shock-do to be bada**. You can be bada** with longer hair. It’s called maturity.

She looks adorable. I agree, she wears it with confidence. Being a person who had long hair in my younger years, my hair is short, but now as someone else put it….long short… and it’s kinda my trademark…I would never look the same with long hair. Plus…I am over 50,,,and for years and even now I get asked if I’m my son’s girlfriend….my shorter hair keeps me young.
