Uh Oh: Is Kate Starting Denim Drama?

It was one of the great love stories of our time: Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge and her favorite J Brand “811” skinny jeans. She and her jeans went everywhere together, from Canada to Edinburgh to the Olympics.

And as anyone who’s found the perfect pair of denim can attest, the relationship between a girl and her jeans is often an emotional one, which is why we were scooping ourselves some consolation ice cream when we heard the news: Kate may be looking for a new jeans relationship.

An eagle-eyed shopper spotted Kate sneaking around on her J Brands at a Gap in London’s posh Sloane Square neighborhood, checking out (gasp) jeggings. But hold the heartbreak for the moment: she ended up passing because nothing was the right length on her.

We’ve always admired the Duchess’s affordable finds, plus we admit we appreciate Gap jeggings for their great fit (and high stretch quotient — and we’re not even pregnant!)

But since we hate to see a great love end, we’ll just remind Kate that J Brand makes maternity styles and hope they can come to a reconciliation. Tell us: Are you sad to witness this breakup?

Oh yes, I forgot. Women can only have one brand of jeans.
