When it comes to the red carpet, the updo is to hair what a black gown is to fashion. But after the classic evening style was a no-show at the Golden Globes, we wondered if it would make a strong comback at tonight’s Screen Actors Guild Awards.

Instead, it was all about glamorous waves with a deep side part, as seen on Amanda Seyfried, Jennifer Lawrence, Julianne Moore, Jessica Chastain, Naomi Watts, Tina Fey and Amy Poehler – just to name a few.
