We love her sense of style — but will we love her clothes?

Ann Taylor spokesmodel Kate Hudson is renewing her contract with the company, and designing a capsule collection for the brand, WWD reports. According to the mag, the actress worked with Ann Taylor creative director, Lisa Axelson, to create “a lineup of looks inspired by her red-carpet style, reinterpreted for everyday occasions.” The collection — Hudson’s first foray into fashion — will hit stores in May. Her latest round of ads will debut in February.

“Working with Ann Taylor has been a great creative experience, and there is a really wonderful connection,” Hudson says. “I love that Lisa is designing clothes for real women.”

Hudson has had her fair share of hits and misses on the red carpet over the years, but lately, she’s departed from her once-“boho” sense of style, topping best dressed lists in her Golden Globes McQueen creation and taking fashion risks in fitted suits and pajama-inspired ensembles.

Since it’s hard to pinpoint her aesthetic, though, we’re interested (and excited) to see what she creates for Ann Taylor — and how work-appropriate it is. Tell us: Would you buy a piece of clothing designed by Kate Hudson?
