Three Must-See Inauguration Style Moments You Might Have Missed
You probably were too blinded by Beyoncé’s 130-carat emerald jewels and Michelle Obama’s stunning Jason Wu ball gown to notice anything else style-wise at the Inauguration in Washington, D.C. on Monday (and we can’t blame you!). But now that you’ve stopped staring at those mesmerizing pieces, it’s time to get caught up on all the fab fashion you didn’t see.
Katy Perry is Spotted in Stripes: Though we doubted anyone could outdo the Obama girls’ purple coats, Perry managed to stand out in a crowd (of 800,000) thanks to her eye-catching Rodarte trench. She accessorized the country-chic look with beau John Mayer, plus a Christian Louboutin bag, Jimmy Choo boots and a black hat accented with a mini bow, which paid homage to the notorious topper Aretha Franklin wore to the same event in 2009.

Malia Obama’s Mom-Inspired Mani: Not only was the 14-year-old’s purple J. Crew coat very Michelle-esque, but Malia’s nails were also reminiscent of her super-stylish mother. While taking in the Inaugural Parade, Malia slipped off her gloves to reveal a blue-gray manicure that gave us flashbacks to the much-discussed polish shade Michelle donned during her famous DNC speech.
Jill Biden’s Forgotten Outfit: It’s tough to out-dress the FLOTUS, but the Vice President’s wife did manage to nab our attention thanks to the lovely Lela Rose steel-colored jacket with a dramatic bow neckline and knee-high suede boots she wore for the Capitol festivities.
