Tabatha's Takeover: Rachel Bilson's Animal Print Is Too Wild

We all know Tabatha Coffey, Bravo’s sharp-tongued Aussie style pro, from her stint on Shear Genius and her latest hit, Tabatha Takes Over. And now, she’s bringing her talents online, joining us at PEOPLE StyleWatch once weekly to dish on some of the best — and worst — celebrity looks of the week. Keep in mind the opinions below belong solely to the stylist … though she’s probably saying what lots of you are thinking, anyway!

Today, she takes on Rachel Bilson, who made a risky move when selecting this long-sleeve pink leopard-print maxi dress for the Art of Elysium gala in L.A.:

It’s okay animal lovers: No real leopards were harmed during the styling of this look. Even jungle animals know better than to drape themselves head-to-toe in this shade of pink.

I’m so confused right now. Did Rachel travel back in time, sneak onto the set of Three’s Company and raid Mrs. Roper’s closet for a gala? This is by no means the type of dress you wear to a gala! Maybe I would like it more if the length was slightly above the knee and the sleeves were capped. Heck, let’s just remove the sleeves altogether and show off more of her petite frame. Reveal a little leg with a sexy strappy heel. Bam! Gorgeous.

As far as her hair goes, I think it should be up in a low, messy youthful bun or chignon. Her long locks are just weighing down her overall appearance here.

I will say that I love her hair color, though. Rich, chocolate brown is one of my preferred colors for winter. I especially like the peek-a-boo ribbons of caramel highlights. Bravo to her colorist.
