The frugal fashionista strikes again!

Duchess Kate may look a little, well, different in her official portrait, but her outfit (at least what we can see of it) is divine. And affordable!

French Connection announced today that they designed Kate’s silk tie-neck blouse, which features hidden buttons and cap sleeves. It retails for $118 — but as with all things the mom-to-be wears, it’s almost sold out: only a few sizes in white remain.

The portrait, done by artist Paul Emsley, took nearly four months to create, as he worked off of photographs he’d taken.

He told reporters Kate wanted “to convey her natural self as opposed to her official self. I was always aware of the fact that we would use the hair very much as a kind of a frame for the face, and not too much jewelry apart from the earring, to try to create something of her natural warmth, her natural serenity without too much busyness in the portrait.”

The work of art now hangs in London’s National Portrait Gallery.

Holly on

$118 for a shirt is affordable? That’s more than I spend on a whole outfit.
