'Bachelor' Sean Tells Us How He Really Feels About His Female Suitors' Style
If you’ve ever watched The Bachelor, you know that the show comes with a big helping of questionable styles. There are sequins and sparkles galore, high slits, plunging necklines and pretty much everything else your mother told you never to wear.
So how did this season’s new bachelor, Sean Lowe, feel about his ladies’ looks on Monday night’s all-important first episode? Let’s just say, when PEOPLE asked him about one dress in particular, his response was, “Oh, crap.” (Sounds like it’s gonna be a good season!)
We also asked Dr. Anna Akbari, a sociologist at New York University and the founder of Closet Catharsis and SociologyofStyle.com (and a Bachelor fan!), to weigh in on the ladies’ looks. Interestingly, she was quite struck by return contestant Kacie B.’s ensemble.
“She was the only woman to wear a short dress, thereby differentiating herself from the masses,” Akbari points out. “Kacie’s look was a far cry from the sweet, flowing gowns worn by the other women, sending the message, ‘I’m different,’ and ‘Watch out. I could be dangerous.'” Based on that analysis, we’ll be interested to see if her claws do in fact come out this season.
