Hillary Clinton Doesn’t Mind You Talking About Her Hair

A lot of women in politics (we’re not naming names!) have been criticized for spending too much time and money on their hair, but Hillary Clinton certainly isn’t one of them.

“I do not travel with any hairdresser, or anybody, to help me do that,” Clinton said during the Barbara Walters 10 Most Fascinating People of 2012 special, which aired Wednesday night on ABC News.

And get this: She doesn’t even stop by a salon while traveling to get her hair done before a big event. “It just got to be really burdensome to try to find a hairdresser in some city, somewhere, oftentimes not being able to speak English, that at least I could communicate with,” she added.

That’s why Clinton decided to take matters into her own hands. “It became simpler to just grow it so that I can pull it back, and I can stick rollers in.”

But Clinton made it clear that hair styling is not her forte. “I’m not very competent myself. I’ve been admitting that for years, which should be obvious to everyone,” she joked.

And though she deals with much more important issues than what she wears or how she does her hair, Clinton doesn’t mind that her appearance is often a hot topic. “It’s fascinating to me how people are so curious about it,” she shared. Tell us: Are you surprised that Clinton does her own hair?

she looked so much better when her hair was short. it made her look fresh and younger. the long hair is nothing but a hot mess that ages her.

I like her better with short hair too, but whatever. She actually has a brain under there so short or long doesn’t matter. She’s smart, tough and conscientious. That says more about her than her hairstyle.

It reminds me of pictures of her when she was younger. I think it is a nice statement: I can wear my hair how I want. It looks pretty.

I have to admit, Hilary’s hair has been disturrbing. White girls wear WIGS,too! She gets my vote no mater how her hair looks.

The woman travelled a million miles in 4 years…My hair would have looked worse…She had more important things to worry about than her hair…like our National Security and International Relations……Do you think she had time for a hairdresser, not to mention most of the places she travelled to did not have hairdressers for her in a mans world…Think about it folks……

She is way too old for long hair!

Seriously, a “lite perm”. The poodle perm I dispair of in older women? Long hair is fine at any age, depends on your face and size of your head. Please let me know when we will be discussing John Kerry’s hair when he’s SOS. The woman is brilliant. Hillary in 2016 — though she’s probably too smart for that!

The point is, she has more important things to worry about(the Nation)than her hair—and she is not using tax dollars on herself. Applaud her, she has a difficult job, her priorities are straight. Who are if her hair is or not?

Having had hairstyles of all lengths, I do get what she’s saying about longer hair having more options. Don’t need a cut every 6-8 weeks and easy to throw it in rollers and then go take calls and do emails while it dries. Business travel is usually not fun for me in the US at nice hotels, so can’t imagine what its like to do it as much as she does and much of it in third world locations with probably less than ideal water quality (does make a difference!). Being on a plane for 10-12 hours also sucks all the moisture out of your hair. I agree she looks better with shorter hair but have to give her props for doing it on her own and not taking a stylist along.
