Anne Hathaway's 'Les Mis' Premiere Look: Love It or Leave It?

Confession: We’ve spent all morning talking about the dress Anne Hathaway selected for the Les Misérables world premiere in London on Wednesday.

The star chose a very busy pearl-beaded white Givenchy number with some serious sleeves for her big night that has just left all of us wondering, “What is going on here?”

Granted, there are a few things that we love about her look: The color is gorgeous and the open back is romantic.

Though with the good comes the bad: The all-over pearl beading is just overwhelming, the sleeves remind us of bat wings (maybe she was paying homage to her Dark Knight role?) and the open-shoulder halter neckline just does not work with everything else going on.

We do have to give Hathaway props for wearing something risky and unexpected (we certainly don’t think we’ll see this in a Fashion Faceoff anytime soon), but we wish she had chosen something a bit less over-the-top. Tell us: Do you like Hathaway’s dress? Vote below?

Anne must have fired Rachel Zoe as her stylist, because she has never looked this bad! Way too busy for her- Anne is a stunning by herself- this dress is wearing her, not the other way around. The back is pretty, but the front is just a mess! Can’t wait to see what Joan thinks of this on Fashion Police.

It’s not a standard, cookie-cutter dress. Good for her for having the self-confidence to try something unique and not settle for something safe and bland. I think she looks beautiful.

She needs to grow that hair looooooooooooong. She’s still Beautiful. <3

I like it! It’s different for her but I like it with the hair…she took a chance….and it looks fierce!

I love it!!! Two words: haute couture.

She has the figure, why not? Let her enjoy the limelight

I like her and the dress but not really fascinated…she should ditch the pearls, they were too much. The sleeves need to go and the neck should be more like a long neck. Other than that she looks good!

If I had her bod I’d even rock a paper bag dress. The draping leaves nothing to the imagination yet conceals almost everything. Clever.

If that gown’s back is “semi-open,” I can’t imagine what “fully open” would look like.

It isn’t a dress I would pick for me….b/c it doesn’t suit me…but it is perfect for her. I have never seen her look bad.
