While getting ready for Tuesday’s UNICEF Snowflake Ball in New York, Selena Gomez took a few minutes out of her primping process to give a little love to her date — and no, it wasn’t Justin Bieber.

Gomez brought her second cousin, Priscilla Deleon, to the black-tie event, walking the carpet with her as Katy Perry, Kelly Ripa and Allison Williams whizzed by. And Gomez even helped her cousin get glam: turns out she did her makeup for their big night out.

“I help her sometimes,” Gomez told reporters as the girls walked into the bash, held at Cipriani 42nd Street. “But don’t give me full credit!”

The actress, who stunned in a revealing Dolce & Gabbana gown, admitted she didn’t feel so great Tuesday night. “When you walk out and it’s raining and your dress is getting soaked, you don’t feel as glamorous,” she explained while referencing the gross Manhattan weather. “But that’s OK.”

But Gomez, a UNICEF Ambassador, was happy to help her cause despite the freezing rain. “I honestly believe in what [UNICEF does],” she said. “I’ve been on their trips and witnessed what they do. I just wanted to contribute, and I believe in them and what they do.”
