Justin Bieber Takes Reporter to Task Over Overalls Commotion

After the drop-crotch pants controversy of 2012, we were hoping Justin Bieber would listen to our advice and invest in some sexy slim-cut jeans or a nice pair of trousers.

But wow, we were wrong.

This past weekend, the pop star received a Diamond Jubilee Medal from Canada’s Prime Minister, Stephen Harper, and wore half-buckled overalls for the occasion. But after being raked over the coals by the Daily Mail (“Would a suit hurt, Justin?” they wrote) and Gawker — which called him a “white trash prince” — the Biebs fought back:

“The pic of me and the Prime Minister was taken in a room in the arena where I was performing that day,” he wrote on Instagram on Sunday, specifically targeting Daily Mail writer Hayley Peterson. “I walked straight from my meet and greet to him, if you “Hayley” expect me to have a change of clothes let a loan [sic] a suit at that specific time that’s crazy, It wasn’t like it was like I was going into his environment we were at a hockey arena. Wow am I ever white trash hayley peterson lol.”

We understand Bieber’s point — it’s not like he was at the Prime Minister’s residence, and the boy is crazy busy — but on the other hand … overalls. Really Justin? Tell us: Do you think Bieber’s overalls were trendy or tacky? Vote in our poll below!

It wasn’t like they didn’t know the PM was coming. His people could of set aside a nice pair of pants and button up shirt. If he wasn’t able to change at all then he should of at least removed his hat !

The lack of respect he showed the Prime Minister is indicative of the general attitude of young celebrities, who increasingly abdicate responsibility for their manners and behavior with excuses about being ‘artists’, or ‘tired’, or ‘busy’ when in truth, they are simply egotists and narcissists who are surrounded by paid yes-people. So when Bieber asked his inner circle “I’m cool, right? This wasn’t a big deal, right?” I’d bet money they said some version of “Nah, nan – they’re just a bunch of jealous geezers…it’s all good”.

Then again, this is a kid who kicked a guy on his own staff in the b**ls for laughs, knowing the guy wouldn’t kick him back – so really what do you expect? Pathetic.

P.S. – Harper should’ve walked out, and told Beiber’s people he was sorry but he was suffering from ‘exhaustion’…

If I was his mother, I’d be totally embarrassed. I don’t think there’s any excuse that is acceptable for his attire. The lad is 19….time to grow up.

How embarrassing for his mom!! Seriously Biebs dressed nicer for Oprah! Beyonce can change her outfit 12x during AMA & he couldn’t? His agent/manager didn’t think getting a prestiges award from his country’s leader deserved respect?

I believe he was dressed inappropriate. He was getting an award from our Prime Minister and he showed up looking like a punk ass kid. Yet last year when he sang/met Obama, he was in full suit and tie. His look has changed due to what teens want, but dressing like that is not excusable.

Classy Justin, real classy.

I am embarrassed to be a Canadian when I see this. I don’t care how busy you are, even though I also am not a fan of this politician, you should show respect for the people you are meeting with. Just another example of youth that have a sense of entitlement and a lack of consequences for their behaviour. Even jeans, t-shirt, and a blazer would have been better and clothes I have seen him in before. Blech this makes me grumpy!
