Tabatha's Takeover: Where Did Heidi Klum Go Wrong?

We all know Tabatha Coffey, Bravo’s sharp-tongued Aussie style pro, from her stint on Shear Genius and her latest hit, Tabatha Takes Over. And now, she’s bringing her talents online, joining us at PEOPLE StyleWatch once weekly to dish on some of the best — and worst — celebrity looks of the week. Keep in mind the opinions below belong solely to the stylist … though she’s probably saying what lots of you are thinking, anyway!

Today, she takes on Heidi Klum, who wore this super-revealing creation to the MTV EMAs in Germany last weekend:

Let’s start this off on a positive note, shall we?

Heidi, I love your hair and the way you have it styled. The side-swept bangs really draw attention to your eyes and having it pulled to one side really accentuates that lovely long neck of yours. As far as makeup goes, it’s not overdone and I find those frosty lips a great way to accent your pearly white smile.

And now for the bad news … what in the world are you wearing?! I get it that the MTV EMAs are a chance for people to be a little more creative with their attire, and I understand you were the host for the evening, but dear Lord woman you look like a disco mermaid straight out of a Vegas attraction!

Heidi, you put the word ‘super’ in supermodel and you have this amazing body that can wear just about anything, but that doesn’t mean you have to wear EVERYTHING.  Let’s leave something to the imagination and the BeDazzler gun in the craft closet. I have this uncanny feeling Tim Gunn grabbed you by the arm before you went on stage and said, “Make it work.”

Tell us: Do you agree with Coffey’s critique — or was she too harsh? Let us know in the comments below!

Tabatha….its just that you are from Australia and you guys are genuinely 5 years behind. This fashion will catch up with you eventually… who are you anyway Tabatha? Love to see what you look like in any dress

Aw come on Candice. IMHO she is right. The right half looks like a spa robe and the left half looks like moths got to her corset. Flattering for the bedroom or the catwalk, but for an awards show,eh not so much.
That said, the color is gorgeous and the shoes are awesome.
Heidi is a stunning woman but just because she has the body to fit the piece, doesn’t mean she should wear it out in public.

tabitha is right. the dresss shows both leg and chest, too much. cud have better taste.

Yes she looks rediculous. Would she want her
kids to look at women dresses this way. It doesn’t even look good on her.

I applaud Heidi for taking fashion risks… and I think she looks beautiful… I wish I could wear that.

I think she looks stunning and AMAZING!!!!! Again, this is the MTV awards, not the Oscars. I’d kill to have her body, and NOBODY has a body like that, especially after having 4 children. I say let her have fun, and enjoy showing it off while she’s still young and can.

she looks fine . she is even less stressed without seal.

Horrific. Heidi should have stuck to showing off and highlighting one body part. Not all of them. The other Versace looks that she wore we’re amazing.

Tabatha is completely right. Heidi Klum is a beautiful woman, but she just looks desperate in this gown that leaves NOTHING to the imagination. It’s cut down to there AND it’s slit up to here AND it’sbright AND it’s sparkly! Plus, let’s face it, this isn’t exactly classy from a woman who has 4 young children at home.

I totally agree!!!
