Why Is Taylor Swift Sad About Owning Hundreds of Dresses?

Having a closet packed with designer dresses sounds like any girl’s dream. But for Taylor Swift, it’s not necessarily something to be excited about.

“I’m in a predicament where I can’t wear a dress twice or else it’s pointed out in magazines,” she says in the December/January issue of Harper’s Bazaar. “So unfortunately I have to shop for dresses all the time.”

She does at least like them, though. “There’s just something so feminine about a dress,” she says. “Whether it’s a summertime dress that makes me feel carefree, an evening cocktail dress that makes me feel fancy or a vintage dress that makes me feel like a ’50s housewife — which I enjoy feeling like, for some reason — I just really like dresses.”

But there’s one in particular she’s always coveted. “I was 15 and going to prom for the first time, and I saw that picture of Gwyneth [Paltrow] in the pink [Ralph Lauren Oscar] gown,” she recalls. “I went all over the mall and showed it to all the store owners and said, ‘Do you have anything that looks like this?’ And no one did.”

For as much as she talks about fashion in magazines, though, Swift admits that she doesn’t talk clothes with friends, including fellow fashionistas Emma Stone and Selena Gomez. “We never talk about fashion, about career, about our ambitions or our projects,” she says. “We just talk about relationships, feelings, love and boys.” For more with Swift, visit harpersbazaar.com/taylorswift and pick up the December/January issue, on newsstands Nov. 27.

or you know, she could not give a hoot about what “the magazines” say about her and re-wear a dress once or twice.

if it’s good enough for kate middleton, it should be good enough for her.

Taylor Swift is a self indulgent little twit. Nobody cares about your dress problem. Nobody cares who you have for cell phone contacts. Even my 14 year old daughter wanted to leave one of your concerts early because she felt you were way too self important.

I think if the first lady can recycle clothes so can celebrities. We wear the same clothes over and over again. Get over be an individual.

Princess Kate wears things twice. It is a shame she can’t be so bold.

I hope that, if owning and having to buy “hundreds of dresses”, is SUCH a bother to Miss Swift that she swiftly considers sharing her priviledged burden with those less fortunate than her. Poor little rich girl…….

The First Lady, Sasha and Malia Obama, Kate Middleton, even Suri Cruise for —–‘s sake; have all been praised for wearing looks that work time and again and are praised for it by designer’s and the adoring public!

Imagine this: a skinny, sick little boy in filthy clothes looks at a woman with a puzzled look on his face; his thoughts are ” so, you are telling me that the biggest problem you face is that you have hundreds of clothes and yet have nothing to wear? Gee-whiz; I thought finding something to eat was hard!”
What a sad, sad product of America she is.

If Kate can wear a dress twice, so can anyone, and they should!! Who cares if someone sees you wear it again! My goodness, that might mean you actually like it and know the value of a dollar. If you really can’t wear them again Taylor, then I would donate the dresses to all the high school girls across the US who can’t afford prom dresses and the like. You don’t even have to tell anyone you’ve done that, that way it would be a true act of kindness.

I thought she was going to say she felt bad because so many other girls in the world would’ve loved to have her dresses…

oh mannn…get over urself – wear the same dress twice ! who cares? only you do, it would appear – how about: we’re never ever ever listening to ur music again… not if we can help it… You’re not all that..sorry

I like Taylor and all – but whining about how you’re in a “predicament” because you can’t wear the same dress twice is kind of silly.

I agree with below, either wear your dresses again like Kate Middleton and thumb your nose at the magazines or donate them.

or better yet give them to me! i think we’re the same size – LOL.
