Four more years with President Barack Obama in the White House means … four more years of amazing fashions from Michelle.

The First Lady exercised her right to look stylish after the polls closed Tuesday night, wearing a pintucked magenta silk chine Michael Kors dress (she’s a fan of the designer), House of Lavande Vintage brooch and black shrug for her husband’s acceptance speech in Chicago. And in true Michelle fashion, she chose a dress she’d worn — twice — before.

“She said that she was so busy with the campaign and their kids that she had no time to think about an outfit and decided at the last minute,” an Obama source tells PEOPLE.

Michelle first wore the dress to a White House holiday part in 2009, wearing it again for a military event in November of 2010, according to the Huffington Post.

“Mrs. Obama looked chic and elegant as always on election night,” Kors says in a statement. “My dress, with its strong color, clean lines and feminine silhouette, has all the elements that have become a part of the trademark style of our First Lady.”

Four years ago, the then-new FLOTUS made her first major style statement in a black-and-red Narciso Rodriguez sheath (daughters Sasha and Malia were color-coordinated with mom). It’s been fun to follow her fashions since then — everything from H&M frocks and Tracy Reese stunners to Naeem Khan gowns and Isaac Mizrahi creations. And we especially can’t wait to see what she wears to the inaugural ball in January — it’ll take a lot to top that Jason Wu dress. Tell us: What did you think of Michelle’s election day dress?

Regarding “Guest’s” comments about the taxpayer paying for the First Lady’s clothes, you are entirely mistaken. As required by law, the First Family is responsible for paying all their personal expenses (including designer clothes and vacations) while living in the White House. The Taxpayer is NOT responsible for these expenses. So you do not have to sweat the next four years of the Obama’s’ wearing designer clothes. And for your information Nancy Reagan was the last of the First Lady’s to accept “gifts” from designers. This practice is prohibited by law. So now what do you have to complain about????

Shar: heellooooo? this is the style section of People magazine! if you want to read about deeper more important things, look elsewere…don’t know why you take the time to comment on this shallow article anyway…

Really icky….when will she stop wearing those outgrown sweaters……called shrugs? Those gathers just accentuate her big butt.

I love the color and fabric of this dress, but the length is all wrong for this tall woman.

The First Lady is sending a message it’s not about her running around in the most expensive clothes. It’s about her goal of supporting military familes, her family and the country her husband leads!!!! This is one GORGEOUS highly intelligent family like the Clintons!!!

I’m so glad everyone is interested in her dress. No other important cares in the U.S. we need to talk about her dress

She looks amazing as always. To careyjr3 on November 7th, 2012 , Military families have NO IDEA how the rest of America lives so stop your belly aching and realize that you get free health care (Tir-Care), EXTREMELY CHEAP groceries (Commissary) and most have a housing allowance. You get annual raises also. Most people do not even get cost of living raises, pay for healthcare, and pay high prices for things like milks, eggs and bread. Be thankful not resentful. Your negative attitude is what the real problem is with this country. Your Congress and Senate vote of the laws not President Obama. He has done wonders after 8 years of Republican B.S. George Bush!

Not an Obama fan, but she did look gorgeous!

The dress had no sleeves in it…..that’s why she wore the outgrown sweater, as advised by her fashion people!
