All About Jessica Biel’s ‘Whimsical, Dramatic’ Pink Wedding Gown

When it came to selecting the perfect gown for her Oct. 19 wedding to Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel was a bit overwhelmed.

“It’s so hard to choose the dress,” she tells PEOPLE, which features exclusive photos and details from the couple’s special day in this week’s issue.

To help her along, the bride turned to longtime friend and designer, Giambattista Valli. “I was really comfortable talking to him about something really important like this,” says the actress, 30.

Ultimately, Valli created a custom petal-pink strapless gown of silk mousseline and silk organza with a light-pink floral motif that “was whimsical and dramatic,” says Biel. Her wedding look also included a heartfelt detail: Her floor-length veil was adorned with pearls from her grandmother’s wedding day tiara.

Valli also outfitted Biel’s four bridesmaids along with her mom, Kim, and Timberlake’s mother, Lynn Harless, for the big day.

As the reception rolled on into the wee hours, Biel changed into a silk shantung and macrame lace strapless dress from Valli’s spring collection.

For more about Biel’s fantasy wedding gown — and to hear Timberlake’s reaction! — pick up this week’s issue of PEOPLE, on sale Friday.

Loved the pink gown – very different – wonder if it had anything to do with breast cancer awareness month????

Lol! Anne Hathaway did it first AND better. Sorry Jess.

Normally not a fan of pink, but she looks absolutely gorgeous. Congrats to the happy couple!

I still can’t get over the fact that there was a video shown at their wedding mocking the homeless. Allow me to repeat myself; there was a video at their 6.5 million dollar wedding, wherein homeless people in Los Angeles were mocked in a “funny” video for the bride and groom, made by one of JT’s closest friends. Both Jessica and Justin appear now to me to be nothing more than self-absorbed, out-of-touch, wankers, pretty wedding or not.

Sorry but I don’t like it :-( Pink for a wedding dress? I could understand maybe if it was for the engagement or a civil wedding. Anyways that’s my opinion.

@Mandy – Agreed! Very tacky to have Britney on the cover and somewhat disrespectful to Jessica!

She could of at least had her hair done professionally (just sayin)..

Agree with Mandy, why on earth would you have the photo of Brittany on the cover too, People??? I hope this give other celebs pause before they agree to share their ‘wedding album’ with People Mag… release it elsewhere.

For those defending the brittany picture at the top… there was lots of ‘news’ going on last week with all sorts of celebs (just flip through the pages of this particular issue) Calling it what it is, a rude gesture on People’s part.
