Brad Pitt Smolders in Debut Chanel No. 5 Ad

I wonder if that perfume stinks as much as that commercial did. That had to be the cheesiest ad I’ve ever seen – horrible acting!

I’m a fan. Not so crazy about the commercial. I can’t blame Brad because it was the Chanel people who came up with this idea, not Brad. He just gets pay for doing the commercial. However, I love the print ad with him in the white shirt. The man is damn hot for his age.

He’s attractive (thought he needs a hair cut and should trim that goatee thing) but that was weird.

Okay, so why do we need everything to be so complicated. I am all about beautiful poetry and culture. However, this is a perfume they want to sell. Who was the ad agency consulting on this deal? A woman wears perfume to feel attractive and attract men for one reason. An ad with a close up of Pitt kissing the neck of a beautiful woman with long dark hair and him saying Chanel No. 5 into the camera would have been highly effective. Sometimes things can be so overdone the goal is lost in translation. He is such a beautiful man and intelligent, but come on people, it is perfume!

Uhhmmmm, this didn’t do it for me. Brad Pitt is definitely an attractive man (notice I didn’t say older). He’s attractive. He’s also a father of 6. So I’m sure “wherever I go … there you are.” You got 6 Friggin kids!! You’re seeing people constantly. Love you Brad, but I think a better choice may have been Patrick Dempsey or it would have been awesome to have a montage of attractive men – then maybe Brad could stay. But for me … it’s a no.

The best perfum commercial I’ve ever seen is Chanel with Nicole Kidman and the hottest model ever. It was beautiful, romantic and captivating. I’ve brought the perfum for my mom even though the scent was not to my taste.

It hurt to say this but Brad Pitt hasn’t look smoldering hot in a long time.

Uh, no. This was a bit boring. I would have preferred to see him without the facial hair. Walking down the hall of a luxurious hotel. He has just returned from a black tie event. He’s wearing a tuxedo but the shirt and tie are undone. Reciting his lines as he looks in the camera. That’s would be appealing..

Cheesie is right. I agree with practically everyone else. Brad is a handsome man, but what is that “My luck, my fate, my fortune” nonsense? Who wrote this script anyway? NOT hot. Not to mention, he is looking away from the camera, so I am not being convinced he is sincere. It is like he is avoiding looking at us. Perhaps he was a bit embarrassed in doing this commercial too!

He is so very, very hot. The commercial does not do him justice. I have so much respect for him and the good he does around the world. He has really grown into himself since 2005. It’s good to see American actors supporting world causes. So many hate him because of his “past choices”, but he made the right choices for everyone in the long run.

I couldn’t play the ad where I am now, but I did see a clip of it the other day on DishNation. It’s just stupid. Trying too hard to be deep and seductive, it comes off as comical. Chanel ads have a history of making ridiculous statements that are detached and disjointed, trying to be so cool and out there. Pass. I’m not one to buy stuff just because a celebrity endorses it. I’ll stick to my HAPPY HEART by Clinique. I get complicates constantly.

Okay, that was embarrassing to watch. Who honestly takes themselves that seriously anymore? It’s time for Chanel to change their branding.

In nearly every romance novel, the first thing the hero notices about the heroine, is her scent. So, it makes perfect sense to have a man do a commercial for a woman’s perfume. Next ad, they should have a woman pass by while he is doing something, and have him catch the scent, turn and watch her walking by. And do NOT have him follow her! That would just be stalking!

Would like to to have one to rub my body-Smelly or not he is killing softly with his deep set eyes – HOT BUBBA. No, repeat no negative comments stops him from being the hottest and now campaigning for the Top chanel 5 – Die with your jelous haters!!

I never thought this man was sexy. Big fat bottom lip, skinny top lip, little eyes, bleached blonde hair. Not my type. I did like his acting in some of his movies. I might be in the minority here but I do not find this man attractive, appealing, or sensual. He’s a mediocre actor and this commercial only proves it. There is something very self-absorbing about him and he is not aging well. Give me a real man anyday of the week ~ Steve Buscemi, Gary Sinise, Ed Harris, Sean Connery, Bruce Willis……….just to name a few.

I thought the acting was good, but I’m not gaga over Brad Pitt. He’s nice looking, but he just doesn’t “do it” for me. I’m more of a Timothy Olyphant kinda gal.

This is a good example of what happens when not much thought goes into a concept in terms of visual style, set, costume, script, or direction (a good director helps an actor have conviction about what he’s supposed to achieve). Poor Brad, he tried the best he could with what he had. Easy pay day though.

Brad is a good looking guy but his clothes were super wrinkled! His hair is shaggy and I do not like the facial hair. Blegh. Clean him up and put him in clean, pressed clothes – maybe a tux – and it would have been much more pleasing.

Just horrible. I do understand that fashion & beauty usually pushes the envelope and stretches reality….but that commerical went over the cliff. Chanel would’ve been smarter putting the lovely little glass bottle in the ad – all alone, by itself and nothing said -rather than half a half baked actor mumble some supposedly profound message. Awful!

He’s Brad Pitt! He’s with Angelina Jolie.. it is him taking a moment of time and talking about their life together. Every journey ends but we go on… It’s about them. I believe Chanel is trying to get those that are enchanted by the two.. its not about just any woman. Most ads for fragrances done by men seem to have the woman unknown, a mystery. Here we know the woman and there is still a mystery about her. What is it that keeps this cool man in her world? The ad would have you believe it is among other things, her perfume… It stays with him. When he senses it on another woman, wherever he is, it makes him think of HER. I get it. It’s for those enamored with the romance between the two whether it be real, or what romantics imagine it to be. Perhaps the timing is off… Would have been better a few years ago.. but I get it. And Brad is still amazing… Looks handsome, but that aside, for those that have met him, its Brad! Brad is simply a wonderful person! Yes he is very casual here, but Brad is a casual guy… it’s meant to be caught in a casual, unprepared moment. In Brad’s offtime, this is how he tends to look. People here commenting are being pretty harsh. I think it easy to see what they were going for and there will most likely be different versions of his ads for Chanel.
