Is 'My Little Pony Hair' Officially a Thing?

We would have never guessed that this ’80s children’s cartoon would someday be an influencer in the style world, but after seeing these pop stars’ manes, it appears that My Little Pony is just that.
Avril Lavigne, Christina Aguilera and Britney Spears all seem to be using My Little Pony as their tress-piration. The three singers recently revealed rainbow dip-dyed hair that’s very reminiscent of the unicorns’ manes on the retro show.
On Wednesday, Lavigne debuted her new hairdo, which features lavender highlights to go along with her already hot pink tips. And since August, The Voice judge Aguilera has been sporting her own multicolored pink-and-purple tresses.
Spears also flaunted teal, blue and hot pink tips at the iHeart Radio Music Festival in September, but it didn’t last long — she has since washed the bright colors out. (We wonder if fellow X Factor judge and tough critic Simon Cowell voiced his opinion on the look?)
None of the ladies have ever been afraid of taking a style risk, so we weren’t super-shocked to see the trio donning such an out-there hairstyle. Though we have to admit it is just a tad strange that these women are taking cues from a childhood cartoon. Whatever the inspiration may actually be, we want to know what you think.
