Get a Red Carpet-Worthy Updo in Seconds for $12

09/24/2012 at 09:00 AM ET

In order to emulate Lauren Conrad’s go-to ballerina bunZoë Saldana’s faux lob or the voluminous style spotted on Jennifer Lopez, you’d need access to a top hairstylist or have some serious self-styling skills. Or, you could just order the Wrap-Up, which we recently discovered on Joyus.

Pretty genius, right? It’s perfect for those days when you hit snooze, oh, five times, then find yourself with five minutes to get ready for work. Or when you don’t feel like dropping cash on a blowout or an updo at a salon before a big event. Here’s how we look at it: Considering the tool is just $12 and it saves you the money you’d spend paying a professional to do your hair before a wedding, the Wrap-Up essentially pays for itself after one use.

The tool was created by celeb hairstylist Sarah Potempa, who has worked with everyone from Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen to Christina Hendricks. She smartly designed the Wrap-Up to have a soft outer casing, so it won’t damage your hair. (Take it from someone who wears her hair up more often than down: Frequently using an elastic to tie it back will eventually leave you with a lot of broken strands.)

So, to recap: It allows us to be lazy in the morning, it ends up saving us cash and it’s better for our hair. Oh yeah, and it makes us look a little bit more like Lauren Conrad. Sold.
