When single dad Tony Pieper got down on one knee during Monday night’s Bachelor Pad 3 finale and proposed to fellow contestant Blakeley Jones, it was a show-stopping happy ending for the once unlikely pair.

In front of a giddy live audience, Jones, a 34-year-old esthetician whose heart was broken earlier in the season by Pad finalist Chris Bukowski, was all smiles when Pieper surprised her with a 2.5-carat Neil Lane diamond ring.

“Blakeley was totally shocked and so happy,” Lane tells PEOPLE exclusively. “All Tony wanted to do was please her and give her the ring of her dreams.”

The handmade cushion-cut sparkler, surrounded by 98 smaller brilliant-cut diamonds and set in platinum, reflects Pieper’s heartfelt description of his fiancé.

“Tony spent a lot of time figuring out what she’d like — something elegant, cool, sexy and with both a fashion-forward feel and with a bit of a past, a vintage vibe,” says Lane, who handcrafted the ring in less than three weeks time. “He knew she wanted a cushion-cut diamond and had always dreamed of a ring with a halo of diamonds around the center stone, so we created that for her and she loved it.”

As for Pieper, 30, he told Lane he fell hard — and fast.

“Tony was clearly smitten and said he knew the first time he met Blakeley he was in love with her,” says the celebrity jeweler. “He could just tell she was the girl of his dreams.” Tell us: Do you love Jones’s engagement ring?

It was definitely something special! I always knew there was a softer side to Blakeley and this was something she deserved. What she ended up with was someone who loves her for who she is and loves the person that she is. THAT is love and we wish them nothing other than many happy years together! They are a sweet couple and deserve to be happy.

Are we sure this was a surprise? Watching it all over again, it looked like she knew it was coming.

Hey Editors at People Magazine,
If a person’s name ends in the letter “s” and you are trying to show grammatical possession, then the proper way to use an apostrophe would be: Jones’ ring.

Not Jones’s ring.

Duh.

Doesn’t matter how shiny the ring….this marriage is a disaster in the making. Did he ever she her get mad on the show, talk about a royal B _ tch, scary inside and out…run Tony run.

I hope it works out for them, but I am a little worried for his son. Has he met or spent time with Blakeley? It would be nice to know that he has a good relationship with his future step-mom. I think the rush was that Tony figured if he proposed on the show he would get a free Neil Lane ring for her.

Of course she said yes the ring was sparkly and he’s so paasive he’d do anything she says
