Miley Cyrus’s New Hair Is ‘the Only Thing People Want to Talk About’

People have mixed opinions about Miley Cyrus‘s new hairstyle, but the starlet herself couldn’t be happier with the edgy look.

“It’s so easy [to manage], you know,” Cyrus told PEOPLE on Thursday at the MTV Video Music Awards in Los Angeles. “I love it. I feel really me and it’s good.”

But making such a drastic change does have its drawbacks.

“The only thing that’s hard is it’s the only thing people want to talk about,” Cyrus added. “And it’s like, ‘Oh, I didn’t recognize you!’”

Hopefully the same won’t be true on her wedding day, though from the sounds of it, the singer has plenty of time to let her hair grow in before walking down the aisle.

“I’ve got so much planning to do with the tours and getting the record out,” she shared, explaining why she may postpone her nuptials. “I mean I’m really excited to obviously get married, but, I kind of already feel married, and I know we’re forever. I don’t really need the paper right now, so I’m just really trying to work.”

So basically someone her age changing her looks and putting her marriage on hold . Means that she and her man aren’t doing to well . That’s what I get out of it !

@Sandra…who says she is too young to be married? I married at 19 and we will be celebrating 17 years in a couple months. I have a friend who married at 17, and they are still together. In fact this is quite common in my circle of friends. Not everyone is getting divorced who married young….

She’s trying to hard to be edgy, and looks good but it is not “her” (trying too hard)…. I see P!nk’s hairdo and an Angelina Jolie tattoo down the arm.

At first I thought WTF happened to Pink, then I realized who it was, could she be even more unoriginal. Just b/c she stole Pinks look it doesn’t make her any more interesting.

She looks like Pink. In fact, the 2 looked almost identical last night, except Pink actually looked great! I have no issues with her hair, except that she clearly copied someone else and I think she’d fare better if she found her own style.

Sorry, but people like to talk about trainwrecks. Even when you try to ignore it you just can’t. This is a trainwreck!!! I mean seriously horrific! If she actually gets to marry super-hot Liam Hemsworth looking like she had a run in with a weed eater, there’s just no fairness in this world!

i think people who have short hair really have a lot of confidence in the way they look since they’re not hiding behind a lot of hair… props to Miley. her short do really suits her face and personality better!!
