Kristin Cavallari Can’t Wait to Slip Into Her Heels Again

New mom Kristin Cavallari got a promotion: she recently went from Chinese Laundry celebrity shoe stylist to designer! The former reality star is launching a capsule collection with the brand this December, featuring pumps, flats, booties, platforms and more in a variety of bold colors.

“I wanted to make a line for girls who want to look and feel great, but not spend a fortune,” she tells PEOPLE. “It’s important for girls to know that you can look amazing at a great price.”

Cavallari says she kept an eye on fall and winter trends while creating her footwear, and “just designed shoes that I love and want to wear,” she shares. “This line is for the girl on the go who wants to feel great for any occasion.” She learned a little something during the creative process, too. “I definitely have a certain style and taste and don’t veer far from it,” she jokes.

However, the bride-to-be has modified her look a little bit since becoming a mom earlier this month. “I’ve mostly been wearing my most comfortable clothes — lots of leggings and T-shirts and maxi dresses,” she says. “I’ve been so tired, so whatever is easiest is what I’m wearing.”

The same rule applies to shoes; Cavallari stopped wearing heels later in her pregnancy, and has yet to put them back on. “I’m looking forward to the first time I [wear them again],” she shares.

Between new motherhood and a new shoe line, the star is feeling quite inspired these days. “I have a jewelry line coming out around Valentine’s Day,” she says. “No plans as of now for a clothing line … I’d love to do a maternity line [or baby clothes], though.” Tell us: Will you shop Cavallari’s new shoe collection?

I love Kristin! Even though she got a bad wrap for being brutally honest, I can totally relate and I give her credit for staying true to her self. Go get it girl! You deserve it!!

No, she has no style. She has no eye for fashion and she doesn’t know how to combine her pieces. Lauren Conrad has better taste.

good for her!

I do not care for this lady, but I cannot beleive that she is a new mom, and did not once mention her baby in the article, Most new moms gush about their new baby. Not once did she mention him, she is just concerned about her new shoe line. So I now I know why I don’t care for this lady, because she only cares about herself and what she can do for herself. Just another attention w*&%$ in the industry.

Yea – with a new baby that’s all she has to worry about– wearing heels again. What a twit!!

Why do some people have nothing but rude, negative things to say? Is your life really that sad? Pity. I personally think she’s smarter than a lot of “stars” who wear heels all through their pregnancy and right after they give birth. (And there are plenty of them!) I have always thought how dangerous it seems to be tottering around on sky high heels carrying a baby.

It’s clear that she’s come a long way since being on Mtv and partying all the time… I’m happy for her!

Really commentors? Do you really think that People is going to interview her and publish EVERY word that she’s says? They’ll pick and choose whatever quotes they want based on what type of article they’re writing. This one was on fashion, not babies or motherhood. If you honestly think that People magazine is going to accurately and completely portray someone’s real personality than you are not so bright. It’s Hollywood people, not reality.

Seems like every reality star tries to start a shoe or clothing line these days. I would love to hear one reality star say, I’m not going the same tired route as all the other reality stars, I’m going back to school to get a degree, and become a lawyer or whatever. Also I have my doubts how much work Kristin herself actually put into the creative process. I guess we will have to wait to see her product, you can tell the celebs that actually know about fashion and the one’s that just paste their name on a product and hope it sells.
