Reem Acra Designs Dream Wedding Dresses for Jennifer Aniston

08/15/2012 at 09:00 AM ET

Jennifer Aniston Wedding Dresses Courtesy Reem Acra; Inset: Sipa

We’ve already discussed Jennifer Aniston‘s potential wedding gown silhouettes, but designer Reem Acra took the conversation a step further this week, designing fantastically gorgeous (and hypothetical) gowns for the newly minted bride-to-be.

Acra, who’s designed wedding gowns for stars like LeAnn Rimes and Jenna Dewan-Tatum, sketched two dresses for Aniston at PEOPLE’s request: one more princess-like, fitted to the waist and finished with an elaborate skirt (left), and another that’s glimmering and form-fitting with a complementary veil (right).

When Aniston married Brad Pitt in 2000, the actress went somewhat simple, choosing a form-fitting, beaded gown by designer Lawrence Steele. She kept the touches — a veil and jewelry — traditional.

The designer calls the actress “the epitome of effortless beauty” — and we know she’d look even more beautiful in either of these elegant gowns. Tell us: What do you think of these sketches? And what do you envision Aniston wearing on her wedding day?

John on

She looks pretty In any tape of dresses

bciss on

The princess gown doesn’t seem like Jen’s style at all.

Crystal on

She had the big dress at the last wedding and look at how that turned out. Perhaps she should consentrate on having a good marriage instead of how she’ll look. That might be better.

Cyn on

Clearly Reem Acra does not know Jenn Aniston very well. I’ve seen Aniston on the red carpet enough to know that those dresses do not fit with her style at all.

JenToo on

@Crystal – Yeah right. Like any woman on earth doesn’t concentrate on how she will look on her wedding day. That’s a ridiculous statement. “I need to concentrate more on my relationship. I’ll just show up in jeans and a t-shirt.”

Crystal on

I don’t mean she shouldn’t look nice. But worrying about having a big fairy tale wedding may not be on the list of things she deems important. At least I hope so.

Carol on

Dress is t o much for her second time around. She would look good anything but something simple and elegant.

denise on

I am sure whatever she wears she will look stunning. Those are beautiful dresses!!!

Me on

Oh crystal…you bitter, bitter woman. Reem Acra and People are focusing on what she’ll wear…Jennifer Aniston never asked them to do that. Plus, I’m pretty sure that brides can focus on their dress, the wedding, and the marrage and be just fine!!! Also, there was only ONE picture released from her first wedding…and all that showed was from the shoulders up. The paps didn’t get a pic…and guests didn’t either. There hasn’t been one single leak of the dress from that wedding. Know what you’re talking about before you comment, troll!!!

GrammaDingbat on

Hope she doesn’t go with either one. I can’t see her in them at all.

stee on

I can’t picture Jennifer picking either of these foofy embellished gowns. I don’t think this designer gets Jennifer Aniston’s style AT ALL. Her first wedding dress was super simple and elegant. Why would she all of a sudden decide to be a princess bride at age 44 for a 2nd marriage???

But it does get this designer’s name out there which is the point of this article. Let her stay a designer to B List celebs.

sonia on

Lots of the celebrities seem to be going smaller simpler weddings..much nicer anyway.

bobbie on

IMO,it will be simple, stylish and low key…after all, it is her 2nd wedding…a big lavish affair and dress doesn’t seem to be her taste. Not knowing her personally, only what we read, how can we even make an assumption? Just so she is happy.

Ari on

I think she’ll pick something simple, sleek and elegant. Not something poofy and not a mermaid dress.

Sarah on

She’ll look gorgeous in anything. She’s happy and that shines through

dawnisahorinnj on

There will be no wedding.. getting engaged is now the new marriage. They will be perpetually engaged and and like Brad Pitt and Angelina, there will be no wedding. Yawn.

Jackie on

She’s 43 years old. By the time she get’s married the second time – she’ll probably be 44 years old.

It’s ridiculous to wear a princess dress at the 2nd wedding. Her LAST wedding was the “wedding of the century” and look how that turned out.

She should focus on her MARRIAGE not the wedding – which I’m sure she’s not even going to invite her own mother – just like her last wedding.

Bisodun on

A simple dress will be perfect. I think she would rather go for a low key wedding.

Katie on

I don’t think either of these look like something Jennifer Aniston would wear. They’re pretty, they just don’t seem like her style.

Nikita on

I agree with Crystal…less is more for the second wedding!

Time on

When will she publicly apologize to Heidi Bivens for stealing her man?

Scooter on

the one on the right

kamielle smith on

That gown doesn’t look like it’s Jen’s style one bit. Sorry.

Melissa on

Shouldn’t she go with something more understated for a second wedding? Just saying. These are NOT her style…

liarlairpantsonfire on

my god, she’s in her 40′s. and no one goes “fairy princess” for their second marriage. mature women get married all the time and do better than this w/ an “expert”.

Diana on

A dress for a second wedding should not be big, white, and extravagant, IMO. Neither of those dresses are appropriate.
I think she’d look nice in gold.

ellen on

who cares!!!

Marli on

Jen is short. She doesn’t want to wear a ballooning dress for some tall gall, and look silly!!
Perhaps she should be the one to design her own dress- because she knows what she looks great in!!!!

Krobi on

I’d love to see Amsale design her dress. Amsale did mine and it was worth every penny!

Cathy on

I don’t see her walking down the aisle in a full wedding gown. I see her more in a slinky gown, basics, which make her look even more beautiful. She’s already done the full bridal thing, been there, done that. She could walk down the aisle in overalls and still look good!

pug_lover on

I love Reem Acra! I love the big poofy princess dress, but I picture Jennifer in the second dress, which is also extremely beautiful! She always seems to navigate to dresses more straight and simple and if you have seen pictures of her house, then you know that is very modern and simple as well. Of course she could always want to go in a different direction for her wedding but I would kind of be surprise if she went for a princess dress!

Amaryllis on

Can’t see her wearing either dress. You are jumping the gun, we haven’t even seen the ring yet!

Babyfat on

Wondering if it going to comes w/ fireworks this time

JMQuinn on

Those don’t look like anything she would ever wear. She’s 43. Bring it down a notch. I see her doing a low-key, more of a casual affair – maybe like Natalie Portman’s recent nuptials. More party. Less wedding.

rlb237 on

The poufy ball gown one is so not Aniston’s style, but I could totally see her in the second dress. Then again, I feel like she’ll go very simple this time, given she already did the big wedding/fancy dress thing.

kimhillsandvalleys on

Jen strikes me as wanting something simple and tasteful, as well as beautiful. I don’t think either design is her. I picture something that shows off her figure, with some flowiness to it. She doesn’t strike me as rhinestones or lots of poofiness, nor anything over the top. That is what I like about her.

catca on

I know these were hypothetical designs because of People’s request and not Jen Aniston’s so my comment is not a judgment of Jennifer. I thought it was considered tacky or gauche to do the elaborate wedding the 2nd time around. I thought those celebrations were supposed to be a bit more low key…

nicole on

Why doesn’t she just wear the dress from her first marriage? I’m sure it cost a fortune and look how that marriage turned out. I don’t understand what the big deal is about her getting married. We have all seen her get married before, remember? Yes, she’s one of America’s sweethearts, but for crying out loud, give it a break already! She’s living with the guy, the jig is UP! Why doesn’t she spend that money on something that will be meaningful??

Harmony Sage on

I see Justjen eloping, getting married on a beach with very close friends and family. A simple white strapless dress, no shoes. Question is….. Will she have her hair up with white flowers or hair down? I believe Justjen will have a lavish reception later on after the elopement. Will she be able to escape the papparazi? Only time will tell. Best wishes.

Chai on

I like the slinky one

Kulani on

Show of hands…….. who actually thinks this will happen?

Laura on

This is her second marriage, I highly doubt she is going to have another two million dollar wedding. These dresses are too over the top. Even her first wedding gown was simple, yet elegant. NO and NO to these dresses.

Amy on

Since she’s done the frou frou already maybe something simple and elegant.

Shea on

uh, no.

flowerescent on

I can’t see her in either one. The left with all the floral roses attached – no way! Too much fluff and froo-froo. Definitely not Jennifer! The right maybe but not with a striped veil. My wedding dress was from Reem Acra…she specializes in very intricate beading and embroidery, both done by hand. I am disappointed with the designs they sketched. Looks like they just slapped together something to give PEOPLE and the public. I see Jen in a more contemporary, form-fitting strapless, definitely without too much fluff, simple, something “refreshing” for this wedding to display how she feels with Justin, something effortless with a touch of sophistication and elegance. And I agree with another poster…Advice…I think she should focus not so much on the wedding and more on what’s important. Many fall victim (including myself). Next time around I will do the same.

Comeonpeople on

you guys have to stop doing this to Jen seriously, smh

Kendra on

The one to the right is more Jen’s style. She’ll wear something modern and with clean lines like her usual style. She doesn’t wear a lot of embellishments. Who knows? Maybe she’ll surprise all of us. I can’t see her getting married anytime soon. She’ll be like the Jolie-Pitts and Dax Shepherd and Kristen Bell and be engaged forever.

flowerescent on

I know that Reem Acra did this at the request for PEOPLE magazine to publish. But number one rule in design is “Know your Client!” This is definitely not Jennifer……forgot to add that in my last post.

Kali on

Both of the dresses are exquisite. The one on the left is a bit more my style, but then I’m me and Jen is Jen. I can’t wait to see what she really wears!

D on

These do not look like her style at all… hope she sticks with something simple and effortless. Maybe even a soft color??

Sam on

It is her second wedding but why should that restrict her to a “simple” wedding/dress. She obviously is happy and is establishing a new relationship and new marriage. I say she will look beautiful in whatever she chooses whether she looks glamorous, simple, or like a princess.

D on

Both are too over the top for her style. I hope she sticks with something effortless…maybe even a soft, subtle color??

kew on

The second gown reminds me of her, how she usually dresses.
She usually wears form-fitting clothing that show off how toned she is, and I can just picture her in that dress. I think she would look lovely in it.

Der Kaiser on

I hope she doesn’t wear white!!

Katie on

I must say that neither of these dresses fit her style. Not sure what they were thinking…

MSS on

These dresses are a bit over the top, and don’t seem to be the style she usually goes for. For a second marriage something simple and elegant would be more appropriate.

Indee on

How pathetic it is that these dresses are “designed for Jennifer Aniston” and yet they are drawn onto “models” that look nothing like Jen or her body shape. How are we supposed to imagine her in them when they are so clearly out of proportion from any real woman? Fashion designers have seriously got weird taste in the human shape.

Dee on

I see her in something more simple, yet elegant.

db on

OH Good Grief! Maybe that is what is wrong with these infamous weddings….too much time and money spent on a circus….and not enough time spent on the meaning of marriage….I promise you its not about the dress……after the first time its just redundant! I’m not a fan of the big dress….lavish reception…nice romantic small wedding….give me the money….down payment for a house…..or a really great honeymoon….its just all kind of silly…..especially when you have walked down the aisle before! All these silly Bridal shows….have warped the minds of young women….LOL…yes I have a daughter and daughter-in-law….and getting ready to another son married….all I can say to myself, there goes my trip to Italy! Keep smiling!

KB on

I can’t imagine her in the full-skirted gown. It’s just SO not her style. Whatever she decides to wear, she will be beautiful. I hope it’s one of the happiest days of her life.

Julia Emry on

i cant see her in a big puffy dress.

Dana on

Both dresses are lovely in their own way, but in my opinion, do not even resemble JA’s “style.” I don’t think she will go for the elaborate, fussy, detailed dress, but will go with something more low-key, classic and minimalist. She doesn’t seem to like to much adornment or frilly dresses, so I can’t see her veering to far from her signature look for her wedding day. Won’t be boring, but won’t be over the top either.

City girl on

Here we go with the barrage of articles about Jen’s dress, destination wedding, maid of honor, guests, food, wedding invites, shoes, hairstyle, honeymoon, babies…will it EVER end? She’s not end all be all celebrity.

abigail on

Amazing I guess I AM THE ONLY ONE WITH A JOB,BILLS AND LIFE TO.CONCENTRATE ON

PS on

Isn’t is kind of a farce! She’s already done the million dollar wedding and that didn’t work and i don’t think this one will work either.

Karen on

Who CARES? She’s a hack has-been actress anyway. The Brangelina controversy bought her some years in the public eye, but she is just OVER.

colin on

I totally see in her in some very simple, flawy gown… on the beach, with her hair braided to the side… Jen is a minimalist and I couldn’t see her wearing the BIG dress… that was the Jen from 1999 not the Jen now.

JenTooIsDumb on

@jentoo shut up!

Noodles on

Second wedding normally allows for something a lil more casual than a huge Cinderella dress, no?

I’ve never seen her wear anything other than than the Little Black Dress in some way or another. My guess is it will be closer to that than these sketches.

Gladiola on

I see Jennifer in a vey sophisticated yet simply traditional gown; she will concentrate on the marriage not the wedding!

Erin on

Reese Witherspoon looked fabulous at her second wedding. Jennifer’s relationship with Justin seems simple…not glam — will be a great day.

Tiffany on

Neither dress. Does not seem like her style. Something more simple, it will look good on her.

Leigh on

@Crystal- You weren’t paging attention. She wore a very simple, form-fitting dress when she married whats-his-name…not a Princess Gown.

Samantha on

I like the sketch on the right,

KP on

They’re both beautiful, but I think because this is her second marriage, that she’ll wear something a lot more simple. But elegant knowing her!

LB on

Somehow I don’t see the 40-something JA in a flouncy princess style dress. That style is for the younger crowd.

LB on

She is not young enough for the flouncy princess style dress. Something more mature would suit her better.

Abbie on

@Crystal – I thought she had a pretty form fitted dress when she married Brad? She has never been one to wear a big dress. I think she will do something different like a short dress or something and I honestly don’t think anyone will see pics unless they crash the wedding like Natalie Portman’s and sneak photos.

lsrtx on

nope, neither

Molly on

I think the very talented and beautiful actress would make any dress look nice, however, I’m not sure if those two match her red carpet style? But, maybe they’re going for a different look? Either way, I will be excited to see what dress she will choose to wear! :)

sally on

Jennifer is sure to stun in any dress she picks!!!

amy on

Too many times couples focus on the wedding and not the marriage. Hopefully this one works out.

Christine on

They’re both gorgeous but the second one is breathtakingly beautiful. #2 gets my vote.

meg on

neither of these seem like jen. She will probably be more of a beachy, effortless california bride. I’m thinking something a bit more whimsical

Mina on

Jen is known for her simple, clean, Calvin Klein-esque style. Neither dress works for her.

Jen would look best in a clean, floor length, close fitting white gown. No embellishments, capes, fishtails, etc.

Yvonne on

What does it matter? These people don’t take marriage seriously anyway. A wedding is just an excuse to throw a big party. Why don’t they write a check to the IRS and pay more taxes instead!

supercaligirl on

to Me, so sorry, but very tacky to call someone a troll because you do not agree with their point of view. Please be kind.

Me on

Please don’t go strapless! So sick of that trend!

Megan on

The title of this article is entirely misleading.

L. J. Beran on

I would like to see Jennifer in a 50′s style wedding gown, high lace neckline with diamond accents, clevege well covered with beaded bodice, puffed shoulders and long lace sleeves, a floor length princess style skirt, beaded with diamonds with their initials on a 15′ train and topped with a diaond studded tiara and trailing veil, the color should be a light ivory to reflect the diamond accents on the dress. She will make a beautiful bride no matter what she chooses, but the dresses above are not wedding dresses, they are formal ball gowns, and I wish this would go out of style quickly and go back to the romantic dresses of the 50′s and 60′s. Thank you.

Mims on

Neither one for me. I am so tired of strapless. Hope she goes for some kind of sleeve.

Ruby on

Sorry, but the “big white wedding dress” is over and done. Why doesn’t she find something more conservative the 2nd time around? She’s over 40-stop pretending we are a first-time 20 something-the time has passed.

gettingoodatgettinby on

Why all these comments about “look how her first marriage turned out”? I don’t believe that was her choice for the end of her marriage.
Would anyone be surprised if she chose something sophisticated, flattering and age appropriate? I wouldn’t – she dresses that way all the time.

Kat on

They both seem too over the top for someone walking down the isle for the 2nd time!

Rachel on

Personally, I think it’s tacky to have a second wedding with all the fuss. Go to the court house, then throw yourselves a nice party with friends and family.

loveblue2 on

It makes perfect sense to me that Jennifer Aniston would want a dream wedding dress. She deserves one after that nightmare that Brad and Angelina orchestrated on her.

Lisa on

Here we go! I knew it! The moment I read she was engaged I knew there would be all manner of articles on every small detail of her upcoming wedding! Next someone will write about how many trips she makes to the bathroom before the wedding and maybe if we’re lucky someone will tell us if Justin was around to pass her a roll of toliet paper! Aggg! enough already!

Smells like Kardashian on

I think she will be in a pretty simple but elegant sheath type dress, no veil – maybe an updo with some flowers.

jenny on

lol aniston is short and stumpy
Someone like gisele bundchen would carry off these dresses to perfection.

jenny on

lol aniston is short and stumpy!
Someone tall like Gisele bundchen would carry off these dresses to absolute perfection.

Sarah on

I hope Jennie goes GLAM for her & Justin’s wedding!

I hope Justin looks clean and mature for their wedding. No biker garb nor sneakers!

Lots of love to them!

Now, are babies on the horizon?!? ;-)

ladyofargonne on

She will look beautiful in anything. And I’m not anti tattoo but after a while a woman can look like an old coloring book. Jen has more sense. Best Wishes!

Guest on

I don’t think Jennifer would wear either of these dresses. I could see her in something much more simple and relaxed and flowy. She doesn’t strike me as the princess ballgown or stiff frilly type.

Tbone on

something tells me Aniston will pick clean smooth classy lines – wonder why? Because that is what she wears. If nothing else so almost always looks great. I may have seen once or twice where it was too much but not in comparison to the rest of hollywood. Especially because she is in her 40s and it is her second marriage…those dresses would be surprising picks.

Sara on

Too over the top for Jen’s taste. But nice dresses.

Nicole on

I think Jennifer is a more ‘simple’ woman, and I definitely doubt that she would choose something similar to that Princess one.
She always looks fantastic, and not over the top “on the red carpet.”

cheri on

I agree with several other posters here, neither of these dresses seem like they are Jen’s personality, but what the heck do I know?
I would have thought Jen would go for classical, form fitting, elegant and non fussy…….yet very subtly sexy too….

Jen seems like a non fussy person to me.

Ronda Reed on

The last marriage was a straight, simple, princess line gown–I don’t recall elaborate beading. However, I think she would look better in a mermaid form fitting gown–PLEASE, no strapless gown!!! I think the wedding/bridal gown should stay formal with perhaps a cap sleeve, and the veil be simple with embroideries and some beading along the edges. The bottom of the skirt could be adorned with lace, beading, etc. Shic, simple, some detailed pleating at the waistline would be extremely gorgeous. A bride should look like a bride, not a ball gown going to some party. This is her life party, if you will. I think simple, stately lines in her design of bridal attire will serve very well.

Jan on

Way too fussy!

Crystal on

As I have been demeaned for my comments, let me defend myself. I did not mean she had a big poufy dress at her first wedding, just “the big dress” as in fancy over the top. Which a form fitted dress can be. I got married in a nice dress that cost $300 and I have been married, happily I might add, for 19 years. I had two friends who got married when I did who spent way too much on their weddings and spent nothing on their marriages. And I don’t mean money. They are both divorced and bitter. I am not bitter. I merely commented that I thought she should worry about the marriage more than the wedding. I don’t see why this should be a controversial statement. Perhaps, instead of being so concerned with Jennifer Aniston, you all should look in the mirror and see why you are so mean spirited. Just a thought.

Polly on

Yikes! One looks like a southern belle’s parasol and the other a sea serpent. I’m sure the dress she really chooses will outshine both of these.

Donna on

Neither are her style, and both are too girly bridal more for a first time younger bride, which Jennifer is not. She should wear a more glam type gown that is along the lines of evening wear, glamorous and not frufru. Heck, they seem to like black leather together, she might even go a casual route just to draw more attention to herself, and to be different to the “other” woman

Tonya on

Jennifer is simple and elegant. That is her style!

am on

can this woman for once just enjoy her moment,I am sure she is going to look pretty and show her gorgeous smile.Ilove hersense of style she can where jeans and a simole t shirth and look pulled together I bet what ever she wears she already has a vision

me2 on

i hope they just fly off to an island and have a private, beautiful wedding…..i wish them lots of love and happiness…this time i think she got a keeper…

AZ Princess on

She so vain, lol lol lol Jennifer is Rachet , lmao lol

Angie on

I didn’t know there was a rule that when getting married a second time women can’t wear white, tulle gowns. Second I didn’t know that women over 40 should just dress simple and not fairy tale like. What if the woman is marrying a man (like Jennifer Aniston is) who HASN’T been married before & he hopes she wears a beautiful ball gown? Would any of you turn that down? I don’t believe there is a handbook on second weddings. It’s to a new person (hopefully) so why not have that first wedding feeling?

Norah on

My first reaction was, “Oh no!” I don’t see her in either of those dresses. While they’re both beautiful gowns, she seems much more understated.

Lolly on

Love these sketches but can’t see JA wearing them – too femmy for her I think. She’s more of a low-key person and would choose something more simple and down-to-earth. She’s not the super-glam person (although she dresses well and keeps fit) so I think her wedding dress will accent this.

Kat on

Why would you plan Jennifer’s wedding for her. It’s very nice of People to order these designs but rather presumptuous as well to make important decisions for the bride, decisions and choices that should be hers and hers alone. These are lovely gowns but over the top for Jen, who has always favored classic and elegant but simple looks.

Xena on

This is a misleading headline, it sounds as though Acra was chosen as Aniston’s designer which is not the case. As for the designs themselves, I agree with everyone who stated that that is not her style at all, she is modern, minimal and very edgy, her first wedding dress was very modern-chic as well, not big or dramatic at all..Best of luck to her and her fiancé, they’re both very talented and great looking, their kids will have very intense and beautiful blue/green eyes =)

Amanda on

These potential gowns are always so pointless. No one ever seems to to take the bride’s personal style into account. When have we EVER seen Jen Aniston in a big, poofy dress?

Tex on

I like the 2nd dress best. I can just see her in this dress. Simple(effortless beauty) was with BP. I hope she puts on the glitz with this one. Above all I just wish her true and forever happiness, and a beautiful baby. I maybe 2 at the most.

Romelle on

I like the 2nd one best. I can just see her in this dress. Simple was her 1st wedding. I hope she puts on the glitz. Above al I just wish her true and forever happiness, oh and 1 baby, or 2 at the most. Best wishes Jen.

faniston4ever on

i like the one on the right more. i think the one on the left’s a bit too much. but jen will look fab in any dress. :)

marian on

I thought that I heard that she is getting married on a beach…maybe somthing shorter, but not too much. Something that has a few different lengths. One should touch the ground, I think. But, what do I know?

LN on

Personally, I don’t think either design represents Jennifer’s style. Has the designer ever seen Jennifer on the red carpet or any pictures of this woman at all??? Jennifer’s style is more simple, classy and understated. Less glitzy then either of these dresses. I can’t picture her wearing the first gown at all…way too much dress. And the second one has too much beading. Over-the-top for Jennifer. Whatever she is going to wear, she will be beautiful! I love her!! A real class act!

roadrunner on

I thought something more Grecian would suite her to honor her father’s native country. She also is very Greek in her views.
