Singers in Sparkly Bodysuits: Awesome or Over?

When Britney did it, it was scandalous. When J. Lo did it, it was hot. But now everyone’s doing it — and we’re kind of bored. We’re talking about singers wearing sparkly bodysuits while performing; a trend that’s taken off, but is probably ready to cool down.

At Sunday night’s Olympic Closing Ceremony, both Melanie Brown and Jessie J covered themselves in sheer netting and glitter to perform during the “Symphony of Music” presentation. Brown — reuniting with her Spice Girls pals — wore a silvery swirled creation, while Jessie J — who performed both solo and with Queen — donned Vivienne Westwood.

We get it — the style is edgy, the sparkles look awesome on stage and their bodies are definitely worth flaunting. But with so many stars (like Lopez, Katy Perry and Lady Gaga) wearing glimmering bodysuits in concert, we’re thinking it’s time these singers tried a little something new.

What do you think? Do you love seeing stars in sparkly bodysuits, or are you over the look, too? Vote in our poll below!
