Ivanka Trump Makes Aspiring Jewelry Designer’s Wish Come True

08/08/2012 at 09:00 AM ET

When Ivanka Trump met teen jewelry designer Linda Cifuentes in May, the day was filled with lots of laughter. But just months before, Cifuentes’s life hadn’t been so happy.

Adopted two years ago, 16-year-old Cifuentes was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma earlier this year. As she battled the disease from her hospital bed, her mother brought her beads to make jewelry with. In time, she realized she had quite a talent — and a passion was born.

Now in remission — and busy planning her Quinceañera — Cifuentes was recently granted a wish through the Make-A-Wish Foundation, and got to spend a day with Trump at her SoHo jewelry boutique. Her family — four of her sisters, plus her parents — came along for the trip, spending a weekend at the Trump SoHo hotel.

“She’s really, really very good,” Trump says in the clip above. “She asked a ton of incredibly knowledgeable and informed questions. I was really amazed by the seriousness she had, and the professionalism.”

The two talked web design and craftsmanship, and at the end of the day, Trump gifted the teen with a piece from her fine jewelry collection. But the giving didn’t stop there: Trump and her team also gave Cifuentes three emeralds, which the aspiring designer used to create a piece that was auctioned at a recent San Diego Make-A-Wish event — and in turn, will pay to grant four children’s wishes.

“Just generally, I look forward to watching Linda as she grows,” Trump says. “I’m incredibly lucky to have met Linda and her family.” See more of the special day in the clip above, and visit lindadesigns4u.com to see more of Cifuentes’s creations.

This would be a good article if it was the “make a wish foundation”. In other words, who cares!

Bravo Ivanka! Her father may be weird, but her parents did something right – I’ve read that she went to Georgetown and Wharton, and her first job was not with her dad’s company, as one would expect. It’s refreshing to see someone with privilege with class…

Ivanka has a subdued elegance about her; her compassion and care comes through in all she does. The Donald may be a boisterous buffone, but Ivana and Donald have raised wonderful children!

A lovely woman and a true role model to young people. Privilege is not an excuse-but a calling and she has risen to the occasion. The Trump children are educated, eloquent, family orientated, and productive! Their parents did well

Thank you Ivanka!!!
These wishes are so important to these kids….my son met Criss Angel in Vegas for his Make-A-Wish before he passed away, and another young man in our clinic here in CT went to his prom with Gabrielle Union. Kudos to theses celebs and anyone looking for a wonderful charity to make their donations …. Make-A-Wish is so fulfilling!

It’s nice to see a classic weidndg gown again… and it’s not strapless! Gorgeous. I hope this catches on in a trend so we can start seeing sleeves again. That is one of the most elegant and gorgeous weidndg gowns I’ve seen in a really long time.Beautiful, understated and elegant.

Ivanka she is beautiful and narutally so and she has a great head on her shoulders and is professional. Paris is just having fun being famous and partying and being a best known for her sex tape.
