That said, I don’t have a problem with the braids, but that updo is a bit much….

Everyone needs to CHILL OUT with their silly and petty comment, my GOD it’s only hair. WHO cares what BE does with her hair, we have ALL been there, done that. That’s the beauty of it, women have the option and luxury of wearing their hair in various styles and textures.

Braids are flexible and they allow women of EVERY COLOR to wear them anyway they want. So ENOUGH with the petty comments, Beyonce is free to wear her hair anyway she chooses and its NOT the end of the world. Jesus…..chill out.

It looks like she plopped a bun on the top of her head…it can’t possibly be real. As for little Blue Ivy…if you are a celeb and plan to bring your child out in public, just do it without all the posturing to keep the child’s face hidden. The more the child is hidden, the more the papparazzi will be dogging after for a picture. If a picture is easy to get, the paps won’t be clamoring because the picture won’t be worth as much. Take a lesson from the Jolie-Pitts, the Afflecks, the Beckhams and lots of others. Let the child get used to the cameras and then he/she will be less likely to be frightened or overwhelmed.

She is a beautiful woman but I don’t care for the braids. She looks different in this picture. Maybe because she doesn’t look like she’s wearing eye make up. She’s still very pretty.

Don’t be so naive. Normally, when someone refers to another individual as “nappy”, the intent is to offend, specifically an individual of color. It was very much racist & completely unnacceptable.

Janelle, I 100% agree with you. I’m failing to understand the straight up vitriolic commentary because Beyonce has some braids in. Or that they’re in an updo. So she’s not rocking the swishy, shiny wig for once. Why not give props for that? Ugh. The ways that ignorant people show their true selves.

if it is designed different way, i would love it. but it bothered me because at first i thought it was woven basket hat.

I have Senegalese twists (braids) that look similar and I love wearing them in a high bun! Of course, mine are dark brown and not quite as full, but its so much cooler and convenient in the summer. And I, personally, think they look awesome. I’m biased, of course =)

She has a great life because she has worked for it. As far as her hairstyle goes, she likes to wear her hair differently. I’d say she always looks very pretty, sexy and glam. BTW her baby is adorable.

I love Beyonce and she usually looks great in any hair style. This one is a little different, though–love the braided thingies near her scalp, but the yarn ball topper doesn’t do her justice.

No offense but that looks like a big ball of yarn sitting on her head. She’s so pretty but this is not a good look.

The problem is that Beyonce,Oprah, and others go to the extreme to pretend that all of those weaves and lace front wigs are their natural hair, which as anyone with half a brain would know is ridiculous. I love the exotic natural hair and wish it were worn more. Beyonce’s hatural hair is like her husbands. I have seen pictures. This is why she is going to great lengths to put that wig on the baby. This continues the big cover up lie and makes it more believable that she has this “great” hair. This is sad.

Tomorrow we’ll see her photographed wearing a neck brace after sporting this creation…

i am a black woman, and have rocked long braids, actually I just took them out a week ago. I love long braids, but that bun is toooooooo much! It is not a good look.

And to the ppl who keep calling the race card, nothing I read was race specific. Just cause you LOVE Beyonce does not mean she walks on water. That hair is crazy! I understand she is a celebrity so she can do “cra’”, but put that same hairstyle on some girl at work, on the subway, in your college classes, or better yet, a female you are interviewing. It is toooo big, and yall know it! its nothing about race, it is what it is, and this is too much! (which is saying something cuz i love braids that go to the small of my back!)

I am amazed that because I am a white woman that I cannot have an opinion about not liking her hairstyle without being bashed as a racist. Wouldn’t that be reverse racism on the part of blacks who don’t like my comment? The article asked what we think of it and I personally don’t like it. That being said, those who are making racist comments need to show some shame about their conduct. There is nothing wrong with saying you don’t like something but you don’t have the right to put down another culture because you dislike something as simple as a hairstyle.

I think Beyonce’s braid looks awesome on her and she wears them well and ALL of you know it. In fact,Beyonce’s braids are Not out of the ordinary from what other Afro American women are wearing and I don’t remember reading any negative comments about them!! Get a grip ladies and pull in your “claws”. Give credit where credit is DUE,and compliment OTHERS as you would have them do “YOU”. We should be seeking for opportunities to lift each other UP, instead, we not tare each other DOWN…..sad… So Give Beyonce her props ladies.She has worked hard to get where she is and deserves it. I do believe that the ethnic style is not for everyone, yet my girl Beyonce can really rock it.
She is so beautiful anything would look good on her. She should explore some other styles with braid as well. Save the straight for the midnight date. Smile for a while!
