Red Carpet Trend Report: What's Sizzling and What's Fizzling

Happy morning-after July 4th! To help you ease back into work mode after mid-week barbecues and fireworks, take a little breather and check out which trends we’re absolutely loving this week. Also find out which one we don’t need to see again — similar to those red, white and blue outfits that need to be put away until next year:
Up: Risqué lace-up necklines: The usually demure Michelle Williams showed some skin without being overtly sexy thanks to her tied-up top, an interesting detail that made her LBD (paired with white Givenchy heels) anything but basic.
Up: Blingy hair accessories: We’ve never met a sparkle we didn’t like, and that includes Emma Stone‘s Cartier diamond hair brooch. To ensure her tresses were as shiny as the accessory, her stylist Mara Rosak used Moroccanoil products on the starlet’s hair for the Los Angeles premiere of The Amazing Spider-Man. “I sprayed the entire style with Moroccanoil Luminous Hairspray Medium and finished with a light misting of Moroccanoil Glimmer Shine Spray,” Rosak shares.
Down: Pajama-esque looks: We’ll admit it: we kind of loved it when Rihanna wore an Emilio Pucci sleepwear-inspired ensemble a few months ago, but now we’re over it. The undone look is called the PJ look for a reason — it’s meant for bed, not the red carpet! Better luck next time, Jessie J.
